From my opinon no not good enough doesnt comand his area and as for when he does come out get hold of the ball instead of flapping or pushing it away. How hes made it to 2nd choice for villa last year ill never know

Tomorrow we're playing Crawley who couldn't stop us from signing Cedric Evina due to wage demands .... yet they have signed 2 keepers with top flight experience .

Brian(the beast) Jensen 39 as #1 and a reserve  keeper  in Jamie Ashdown 33, who we had on trial most of pre season including Portugal.

Yet were stuck with 2 inexperienced lads. (not there fault)

Work that one out.  :ermm:

1. Should Steer be dropped?
2. Will he be dropped?
3. Is he allowed to be dropped?

Work that one out?

Am I wrong in thinking that this is just another example of issues being caused by the collapsed take-over?

By the time we able to go and sign people our main targets were no longer available.

I think there's quite a bit of truth in that. Crawley did their business very early, although they had a high turnover of players (the result of several managerial changes).

With regard to the goalkeeping situation, I think Dickov expected both Turnbull and Maxted to stay and so had to move quickly when it became clear neither would. Steer hasn't done much to convince me that his loan should be extended beyond the end of next month, but we'd still have the problem of finding another keeper.

Jamie Ashdown only signed for Crawley as reserve keeper on the 29th Aug , surely we could have offered him better than that.
If John Gregory still wants Evina then we ought to offer him a loan swap for Ashdown .
As for a left back i'd play any one who can use 2 feet and doesn't panic when the ball comes near him for a start .  :)

Saturday's error apart (of which Steer was as much to blame) I think Evina's been ok.
