Interesting comment from PD after the Fulham game
« on September 25, 2014, 12:58:18 pm by Wellred »
Have we now started travelling long distances to games the same day to cut back on costs?
Even when we were in league 1 last time we would have travelled the day before to games in London.

The lads could have had tired legs due to travelling down the same day to the game.

Where was it said?

They certainly didn't look tired in the 2nd half to me.

Its not just us, the FL clubs voted quite recently to have as many long distance games played midweek so as to allow them to travel on the day of the game. It wouldn't happen on a Saturday afternoon.

It's not to cut costs, it's bloody common sense.

If a group of men can't travel for a few hours through the day, for a night game and then travel back after then there's something wrong with them.

They weren't at Cantley Park on Wednesday so presume they had the day off to recover.

Seams a logical course of events to me but why not try turning it into another dig at the club over spending.

I don't think the dig is at the club over spending!

makes sense... bout time clubs and the football league thought about the fans that travel with work commitments etc..

saying that we would of played on a tuesday/Wednesday  no matter who it was with it being in cup.

It must be difficult travelling all the way from Doncaster in the far North of this kingdom of ours to London all 170 odd miles door to door in an air conditioned coach playing on their Ipads listening to music and then having to run around for 90 minutes chasing a bag of wind - life is hard as a professional footballer.

We should be so lucky

But they're not thinking about the fans, quite the opposite. We argued, and have done for a long time that the leagues should avoid long distance travel for clubs during the week and save that for the weekends. This is in direct contrast to what the vast majority of supporters keep asking for.

Stop these sensible suggestions, it's clearly penny pinching by that scrooge Bramhall again!

They skipped down in pairs holding hands.

wonder if they had to have a partner
were they allowed to eat packed lunch on the bus or was it saved for a picnic area

Usual packed lunch rules apply - eat it all as soon as you get on the coach then spend your pocket money on sweets at the services.
