I would have thought that the marketing department would be better served by actually marketing the club and getting bums on seats, rather than setting up schemes like this that will generate a minimal return for the club.
Exactly.A week from now, how many people wanting to book a hotel will remember to go to clubdoncastercompare.com? They will revert back to their trusted sites of lastminute.com, tripadvisor, hotels.com eastcoast etc.Unfortunately DRFC does not have the footprint and the market presence to make these things worthwhile (including mobile phone contracts, credit cards etc)Instead they should be concentrating on getting people through the door, watching football, buying pies and supping beer, and maybe buying a scarf and a mug from the shop.
