Question time from Donny tonight
« on December 04, 2014, 11:43:09 am by podrover73 »
David Dimbleby presents topical debate from Doncaster in South Yorkshire. The panel includes Conservative culture secretary Sajid Javid MP, Labour's shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper MP, Liberal Democrat peer Shirley Williams, actor and comedian Omid Djalili and the former director of the Centre for Policy Studies Jill Kirby.

Wonder if it will bring our resident political debater back out ?? :chair:

Oslo

Aye, of course, the BBC is biased towards the Left.

Look at the big Westminster story today.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-30331569

"Tory MP arrested"

Interesting that the headline doesn't mention what he was arrested for. The first paragraph describes "an incident".

All sounds like a bit of nothing. Unless you bother to continue reading, when it turns out he's been arrested on suspicion of rape.

Compare that to the last time a Labour MP was arrested.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17136209

BBC article immediately wades in with a headline explaining that the MP is accused of assault. First paragraph gives details of the fact that it happened in a bar and it goes on to say that people are worried about his health (in other words, he's a violent alchy).

Why would the BBC do this if it were the den of pinko lefties that a lot of people claim it to be?

Well Sajid Javed, the biggest lying t**t in the Tory party managed a full 90 seconds before his first shocking lie. Claiming that back in 2010, people were saying that there would be catastrophe if the deficit was cut by 50% by 2015.

No one was saying that. Labour was saying it would be a catastrophe if Osborne cut the deficit entirely by now. He started off trying to do so, and, like some of us predicted, he's not been able to last the course because of the extreme damage he did in the first couple of years.

As a result, these b*****ds have cut the deficit by LESS than Labour had planned to do. Precisely because they cut too far and too fast too soon, f***ed the economy, lost 3 years of growth and then had to stop cutting the deficit for the past 2 years.

Has that comment got anything to do with my post about a bare-faced lie from Javid last night?

Ironic thing was, he was responding to a question about why people don't trust politicians. Perfect case study.

Member of the public: "Why do you think the public don't trust you?"
Sajid Javid "Well, madam, because every time I open my mouth, a lie crawls out. You see, I work on the assumption that if I say it with enough authority, you'll believe me. Because I despise you. You are less intelligent than me, and therefore I can lie to your face with a look of confidence. And you'll never realise, you pathetic little piece of shit. But, unfortunately, I need you to vote for me, because that's how democracy works.

"Now, many politicians are dissemblers. They are a bit economical with the truth. They spin the facts, but they don't lie. Because liars, it's always assumed, get found out eventually. But me, madam, I'm a different breed. I'm one of the flash f**kers who was high up in the banking industry and ran the world. Ran the world into the brick wall as it happens, but there you go. Didn't affect me as I walked straight into an MP position in 2010, and from there, straight into the Cabinet. And I brought along my disdain for you f**king plebs and my willingness to lie as easily as I breathe if it helps me to get on.

"Now f**k off and let us get on with running the country."

Boomstick: the mess that the Tory establishment created through:

1) the creation of a culture where regulation for the common good was seen as so poisonous that no political party could attempt it
2) the creation of tax rates that are so ridiculoulsy low that no government can afford to manage this stupid country as it needs to be managed
3) the creation of a climate where greed is good, board room thieving is good and banking was, and continues to be, a joke

And all of that came from the 'minds' of the mighty Tories. They invented it. They presided over its development. Tbey presided over the cataclysmic growth in the gap between average wage and boardroom wage of something like 2000% - all based on 'performance' measures that turned out to encourage greed, short termism and the ignoring of fundamentals.

No party can change that yet. TTIP, by the way, is probably goping to get threough as a result. Yet it's another example of the way the Tory business complex is dictating the future of the country. This country will stagger under Mrs Thatcher's legacy for a generation yet. It can't be fixed until the arrival of either huge external force (climate change or war look the most likely at the moment), or, a charisma figure who can sell a new vision to enough people. That's whay I so despair of Tony Blair btw. He could have done it. He had the charisma. He had the power. He had the support of the nation. But he turned out to not have the vision after all. The Labour party is now destined for second tier status at best for a generation. Occasional government only - unless the system implodes.

I've let you lefties have your own way for a month just to see what drivel you would come up with. You haven't disappointed me. Luckily for the silent majority , the voice of reason is back.

Where do I start? There has been so much drivel posted that I don't think it is possible for someone of my calibre to sort it all out without spending all my time at the computer. So I'll just have to pick out some of the glaring leftie stupidity.

BST has excelled himself (what a surprise). As in my last post I don't want to call him a liar so I will comment on some of the drivel he has posted and let the right minded people of this forum make their own minds up.

He says that Sajid Javed is a liar then goes off on one. I distinctly remember Ed Balls and red Ed saying back in 2010 that there would be catastrophe if the deficit was cut by 50% by 2015. Notice that not one leftie commentator has disputed what Sajid said. That tells you all you need to know. Who do you trust? BST or the whole of the leftie establishment.

Now to BobG. He blames all our ills on the tories. I've got news for him. Labour were in power for 13 years. They ruined the country for at least a generation.

His arguments on tax are laughable. We are taxed to the hilt. Especially the rich. If you want to destroy the tax take in a country, just look at what has happened in France under a socialist president. France are a basket case. I suggest BST and BobG emigrate to France. We wouldn't miss them.

Let's just examine the answers given to that question.Yvette Cooper totally failed to answer the question. The debate got around to how Labour and the Tories would eliminate the deficit in the next parliament. Yvette was asked how Labour would achieve this as they have promised. Again she refused to answer the question honestly (just like Ed balls and red Ed and anyone else in the Labour party always do). What was her answer? We'll get rid of Police Commissioners. Yipedee doo dah day! That's going to reduce the deficit by something like 0.01%.

If anyone is dishonest it is Labour. I also believe the Tories are dishonest, but at least they are more honest about the huge cuts to come than Labour are.

Unfortunately we have a political system where if the truth is told about the savage cuts to come, the party that is the most honest, will not get elected.

I suppose he's had an irony bypass as well as a brain bypass Stu. Poor fellow. Life must be so hard. I wonder if he has no one to talk to? It looks that way, doesn't it, what with his inability to stop himself breaking out in a rash on here on just about every thread. I think he needs someone to talk to. Let him get it out of his system. He might be able to join the human race then. We'd all benefit from that so anyone willing to sit down with the poor thing?

Cheers

Should be a good laugh as a professional comedian wipes the floor with an amateur one.
