I've moaned about Dickov. I'm not completely silent. Another positive result and well done to the team and Dickov. My stance on him doesn't change.

If we win the next 10 games and get promoted will you change your mind?
I don't think its about promotion. If we finish above mid table to fringes of play offs that would be better than the finish I predicted (mid table). If we were to do better then he would change the mind of a lot of the doubters.

So at the minute were doing exactly as you expected us to, so why are you unhappy with him?
He got us relegated. He was appointed on the basis of a criteria that made us think we would be getting the world. His managerial record is hardly inspiring. I'm not going to be swayed by a few results. Whether or not were in my predicted position is not relevant, it doesn't alter my opinion.

I don't think there is a single person on here who expected Dickov to have us at the top of the table after the trauma of last season, key players leaving and then the takeover calamity.

What folk did expect though with the not inconsiderable resources at his disposal was a team that knew what it was doing, could play with a degree of consistency and had a bit of heart.

These just were not present for most of the season to date and this simply was not acceptable, even though there were precious few injuries and a budget in place to apparently bring in players where necessary - and as was eventually done with Butler, Johnstone and Stevens.

These are different expectations to results. The team now appears to be playing with all of these AND as a bonus/ as a result, are able to put a run together. Long may it continue.

As I've said a few times, our performance so far this season is not far off the performance that we had in the first 5 months of our promotion season in 07/08. O'Driscoll had a far better situation than Dickov's had (long spell of consolidation, carefully built-up squad over several years, united Board, long time to plan his season). And yet we still underwhelmed for half a season. And for most of that time, our performances were gash.

Cut Dickov some slack. There might be some humble pie required by the end of the season.

He is I am afraid going to have to carry a heavy weight around with him for some time yet.

Many folk just totally lost confidence in him after the debacle of the last eight games last season. There were plenty on here confidently predicting that results would go our way and if we could pull out a few results then we would be safe.

We didn't. We went down in the most gut wrenching manner possible.

Folk will need properly convincing that this is a manager who really knows what he is doing.

I felt like that 7 years ago after the most expensive squad in our history had shown near-relegation form for 10 months.
