Recruitment policy.

I thought we were to see the end of short termism regarding recruitment. Younger players on longer contracts. So far this window we have signed Bywater who is 33 on a short term deal, Razak on a short term deal, Possibly the lad from Watford on a short term loan deal and Andy Butler who is over 30. Wabara has also signed a short contract extension. There will be plenty of ins and outs in the summer, and the experienced heads in the team, Keegan, Wellens, Copps, Butler and Tyson will all be a year older and none of them are getting any better.

If we are promoted how many players will be up to championship football next year? Not many.

Save next year's moans for next year. If we get promoted it will be a great season, regardless. At the begining of this season we had Harry Forrester contracted for next season. That is right, one player. We now have over 10 contracted beyond the end of this season. Bywater signed because we needed a keeper in a hurry, if it works out for him here I can see him extending no problem. Razak is untested so I don't quite know why you think he deserves a 3 year contract.

As for this new lad we're meant to be signing - well let's just wait to see what happens there is all kind of rumours flying about at the moment.

Once again Dickov has been allowed to strengthen in January. That is a positive.

The OP forgot to mention McCullough too, a young player signed on a 2 and a half year deal, didn't he?
