Betsy our lots from Abram / Platt bridge.
Always reminds me of woodlands in the 80"s !
Were in Bessie and walk to games.
But house on the market and moving to Sheffield!!!
Not sure where yet? I fancy greystones but our lass wants crooks / sandygate.

You deedars got any recommendations?

I lived in Hillsborough for 27 years and found it a great place to live. Good shops in town and well connected to Sheffield City Centre.

I live there too, proper sh@thole.Entertainment was the weekly punch ups in and outside the Blue Bell, or Jonny Nelson and Bomber Graham holding their hands behind backs while locals paid a fiver (to a charity type thing) trying to chin them.

I thought you'd live the closest to the Keepmoat out of all of us being called Sandy Lane.

Near blakeney North Norfolk. nigel Worthington is a near neighbour so it was great to turn York over in the cup.

Depends on money my friend. I sold a 3 bedroom detached house in Mexborough and could only afford a victorian terraced in Hillsborough. I now live in the Birley/Frecheville area. Its ex council nice and within a reasonable budget. Sheffield varies massively. Up in Cleggs area its millionaires row, then you go to student ex-student land of Crooked and Walkley, still very pricey for what you get. There is always Pitsmoor if you don't mind the odd drive by shooting.

Cheers boys, Our lass will not entertain Hillsborough or anywhere east of there. Think its a triangle from Totley, thru Millhouses to Netheredge across to crooks / crooksmore and fullwood and back over to Dore. Believe me I know we don't get much for the money there! Ruled Greystones bannercross out as the housings just too shit for the money!! + Schools very important.
Her mate runs Blundells and is keeping an eye out for us! (ie will find out what bids are in ect)
Budget is around 260. Ours been for sale 2weeks today.

Bedworth, Warwickshire. Roughly 200 mile round trip. Season ticket holder and have probably made all but 5 home league games in the last 5 years. :)

If I were wearing a hat, I would take it off to you Sir.

Skipton, North Yorkshire.
3 hour round trip if the traffic is OK.
I have a season ticket and I rarely miss a home game, but night matches can be a real pain.

Brockley, South-East London. Cost of travel and no family in Doncaster anymore means I tend to only do around 8 home games a season; the six the fanzine is on sale and a couple of others.

The double-headers with the Belles make it a bit easier to justify the travel when I get two matches in.

Massive credit to you Glen.
Fans like you are an inspiration to others.

It's always a pleasure to say 'hello' to you when you're selling the fanzine and I didn't realise how far you travelled to a home game.

Good on you mate.

Hi, Les thanks and yes Walkley is in the search area for us.
Its a big move we've been putting off but my two lads are now 15 and 13 and will now visiting less. (still need accommodating though) but our other 3 at 9,4and 2 will need good schooling don't want to move them again so its important to get it right!
Her parents in netheredge give us their opnions as do her school friends (most have buggered off to that there London tho!)
Feel her dad is out of date tho as he wrights off certain streets for being cold? or polluted?
Sorry for hijacking thread.
Back on topic.
Some of you put us all to shame. Do you feel there's an expat like life affirming role in having a reason coming home? which makes the passion for supporting magnified?
Once moved I know I intend to meet my boys at rovers in future and sat games will be out thing?

Going to the Rovers as an exile is like coming home every time or dropping in at your parents.
Some fans that live local don't realise how lucky they are being so near.

Totally agree Idler, I was supposed to come when I was diagnosed with the big C. Told I was clear and then  a month later told it had spread. Now undergoing Chemo. I would be coming from Milwaukee Wisconsin USA. Local people are lucky re the Rovers, however, I am more lucky being over here with the medical treatment I am getting.  Time for things to be put in perspective.

Auckley, You're Welcome. I do know there is a very good CofE Primary School on South Road, I have a friend who sent his kids there and speaks highly about the school, and he is an ex-teacher. Need any further info about Walkley, just ask, if I don't know I'll email my friend for answers who still lives in the area.

No, I just liked that name since I used to see it referred to on here.
