Crewes thoughts

Always nice to get some positive views from a decent lot,off their forum:-

re: Crewe Alex V Doncaster
Can't complain about the score after a lethargic second half. To be fair they look a strong team and will definitely make the play offs. First half we comfortably soaked up the multitude of high balls with Davies, Ray and especially Tate. Even though they were a huge team we gave them all sorts of problems at corners and were unlucky only to get the one goal from one. I thought Ray dealt with Uche really well who I thought was pretty well marked out of the game. Second half just didn't happen for us, we were second to the ball so often I actually can't remember us collecting anything loose it just always went to a Donny player. They looked a yard quicker and stronger. Saying that there wasn't many clinical chances and we did well to block shots when required. We had the odd chance and Marcus had a header that just wouldn't drift in. Given the situation I actually thought he did ok. Centre 3 were generally ok, sorry i just think Ollie suffers at this level and he was caught out of position a few times and was easily muscled off the ball. Leigh looks a good player but I think he is lacking a bit of confidence and is nowhere as effective as his physical attributes should allow. Granty was good, I really rate jones but a quiet game today only eclipsed by Jamie's non existant performance today. Didn't happen for Nicky today either, had a couple of good chances first half but slim pickings in the second. Forget the second half and look forward to the Barnsley game !

No negativity from me , in my opinion MK Dons aside these are the best team I have seen this season.

They were strong in midfield and lots of options going forward , probably too far behind for automatic, but likely play off winners.

A special mention for Uche...
Debate his play if you like, but in terms of respect he offered that to Crewe players and fans alike.

Very fair piece

I was impressed with the way Uche handled himself when substituted. Shook many Crewe  hands near dug out and even applauded the Crewe Fans on way off - and although some of them had "ragged" him it looked a genuine rather than sarky applaud

every season Crewe manage to sign on loan "ringers" from premier and championship clubs that is how they survive

the loan situation at the moment is
Ross Etheridge   Derby   26 Jan, 2015
Greg Leigh   Man City   12 Aug, 2014
Alan Tate       Swansea   24 Sep, 2014
Jamie Ness   Stoke   14 Aug, 2014
Nicky Ajose   Leeds   26 Nov, 20144

out of these FOUR started last night the other was on the bench
if rovers hadn't nicked uche that would be one more

just like Notts County without the loans they would still be bottom (they have been bottom for long periods this season)
