Pd has said at various meetings over the last season that the board have backed him fully with all of his targets and that parent clubs have been the ones not always willing to release their players or that players have chosen alternatives! He may be paying lip service, he may not!

He has, but do you think he would say he's identified targets but the board wouldn't let him sign them?

Dickov couldn't 'identify' the queen if she was standing next to Elton John.....mind you...!

Dickos
No I don't think he should say that - which is why I said he may have been paying lip service or he may not! Lol
Acko
I would guess, tho I may be very wrong, that if he identified evans and was told no it was perhaps more down to other events and the knock on effect that they could've led to!

And you know this for a fact, do you?

TBH, even if Dickov did want to sign Evans, or even get him here for a trial, I can understand the board having reservations. Leaving aside the rights and wrongs of the Evans case, the individual would bring a massive amount of baggage with him.

And that's your basis of justification then Acko...??? Seriously??? Your using the boards reluctance to sign a convicted rapist and all the problems that brings as a reason why they don't back him.....You need to get your blinkered head out the sand fella....

Emotive subject.

I challenge you, openly on the forum, to prove that statement.

Stop dodging the issue Acko.

I clearly asked you to prove your statement that (PD) identified Evans as a target but wasn't backed by the board.

Evans, PD, board.  Nothing more, nothing less..

I can back the board and their mentality for now as I feel they will get the club running well long term! I can however can disagree with their assertation that pd is the man to lead the first team at the moment! But I can also agree that he is the man in the hot seat at the moment and that they will back him for now in their journey! I have no prob with that - in the same way that I can't disagree that pd has picked the same 11 players at times this season that I would from the ones available but can disagree that he has utilised them effectively! As with any thing in life you can agree on certain subjects bur can have reservations on others linked to it! For me, the current board are doing a good job, pd could be doing a better one! I feel he should go but if there are no alternatives he shouldn't! Hope that makes sense!

A joke?  My arse.

I don't have a sense of humour about you identifying a convicted rapist as a potential target for DRFC, joke or not.  There was nothing in the manner of your post to imply you were joking.

I said none of those things about club doncaster - I have no interest in that set up.  I don't think it detracts from the football club either.

As for what fans group to join, you don't have to join any, or you can join several, or all.  Or you can just turn up at the games and support the team?

I support my own views Acko.
I was watching the Rovers 40 odd years before the VSC was dreamt of. I can agree with some ideas and disagree with others but I can't criticise every statement or initiative that their board makes.
A VSC member is exactly that, they speak for themselves and hold their own opinion, no more no less. They can and do vote for representatives. At the end of the term you can vote against anyone that you have no faith in.
I'll be over on Sunday with my son and three of my grandkids.
Pm me and we can meet up before the game and have a natter. We might even know each other by sight and probably have aa lot more in common than you think.
I just want what is best for my club. At 66 I'm getting past racing over for home games and just want to see it in a safe pair of hands. I'd hate to think that I'd wasted 57 years of support.
We've all seen the lows let's hope next season's a high.
Rant over going for another glass of wine.

Here we go again.  We may well have had a budget to compete for the top 10, or top 8 or whatever - the fact that we have't reached that may not be down to the budget, but more to the performance of the players and the manager.  Isn't this why so many fans are unhappy with PD - he hasn't delivered what he should have?

Yet again, another thread having a go at the club when none of us outside the club really knows what is going on.
i put the thread on and i am no way having a go at anyone

At the end of the OP you quoted the "shopping" thing, then said we'd be buying at the car boot.  If that's not having a dig - albeit a small one - at the club's buying ambitions then I don't know what is?

However, my point was probably more aimed at this:

were you buy what others don't want, what happened to the so called top ten budget vsc talked about.
i suggest you get a seance of humour  it was light hearted

I am thinking of getting Derek Acorah on the job, Vicar!!, being serious i doubt any of us will ever know if he has had the support of every player he wants.
