Forrester is good, but on the evidence of the whole season and not just the flashes in the pan we see every now and then, would not get into many Championship sides on a regular basis. To inconsistent for my liking.

He is a match winner, like many others of the type that 'go missing' but is essential to the team.

He's easily the best player we've got in terms of age and skill and if he played with the consistency that you expect he'd be way out of our league.

He's a player we have got to keep and same with Bennett if any of them were to line up against us next season I wouldn't look forward to it.

I've no quibbles with the lad's skill. He's got that in spades. It's abundantly clear and it's a joy to watch when he's on form.

What I am questioning is his professionalism when things are going badly. He's 24 years old. He's moving into the ranks of "seasoned pros". But time and again, when we were in matches where we needed the seasoned pros to step up to the plate and make the difference, he didn't. In the Bristol City and Bradford home matches at the business end of the season, he didn't just put in poor performances; he went AWOL. In two of the most important matches of the season, where we REALLY had something to play for, he was substituted at half time. Add to that the ridiculous f**king about with the penalty in the home Sheff Utd match and two foolish red cards and there is a BIG question mark about his attitude.

Get that right and we have an absolute gem of a player. Get it wrong and we have a flat-track bully who might be handy for the easier games, but should be nowhere near the starting line up when the chips are down.

I see him regularly as I did today driving into Hatfield. I think his house there is for sale, Filo will know if I am right, always a steady driver, I hope he can stay as he has not had the best start whilst here, almost a season out last year and behaviour problems earlier in season but overall I would like him here for a few more seasons.

When he first moved here he had the house opposite Hatfields (country club for the older generation), don't know if he still has it now though

The lads made 60 starts in his career give him a break Billy. He's on another level to anything we have, to get a sniff of promotion we need to add another 3/4 of the same level. That's how far behind we are.

Forrester has been disappointing, so much natural skill but such a weak attitude over the season. He reminds me a bit of Bennett last season. If he turns that around in a similar way to Bennett we could have the best player in this league. I hope we keep him and he wakes up.

This brings me back to us needing that Jones type captain on the pitch, a Mal Purchase type physio, and a kickass psychologist.

Gaz

As I said, if his attitude improves, he'll be a star. I was a big fan of his earlier in the season. He showed flashes of exceptional ability. The Bradford away match comes to mind, where he pretty much single handedly changed the match.

But didn't his performances against Bristol City  and Bradford home matches give you cause for concern? If you are looking at relying on a player as being an key player around whom the system revolves, you'd better hope that they are robust enough to deal with being targeted. Coppinget has dealt with that for 10 years. Forrester was targeted in both those matches and he couldn't cope with it.

It's something urgent to be worked on.

In my opinion he's too good for our current team. He should be in the Championship, and if he was available for us last season we'd have stayed up. If he was more consistently brilliant he wouldn't be anywhere near league one Donny.

Anyway I reckon those questioning his commitment will soon not have that concern. I fear he's played his last game for us.   :(

I agree with bally on this one, i hope he is with us for a long time yet.
I remember reading earlier this season from Copps no less, who said that he himself had been a bit of a late developer and look at how much we admire him now.
Many many players dont produce their best until their mid to late twenties.
Give the lad a chance.

Forrester can be a matchwinner.  Even when he, and the team, are playing badly, he is always capable of producing that one moment of magic to win a game.  A bit like Cotterill in that respect.

Therefore I think he should stay.

Big mistake if he goes... but i'm not sure our "manager" likes him.

Seems to me we are missing a leader on the pitch. Wonder if Forrester could fill this role?
