Re. Stock/ Murray. What they have in common is Perry. Brian Stock was the first Rovers player capped by Wales since Eddie Perry. Andy Murray was the first Briton to win the men's singles at Wimbledon since Fred Perry.

Truly awesome TRB. The connection actually goes specifically to the 1930's for both Perry's.

I really thought I would be revealing some of the answers - certainly didn't expect all of Shelton Martis, Paul Williams, Doherty/Shiels, Chris Balderstone and this question to be answered so quickly! We have some incredibly knowledgeable fans on here

Summary of answers:

1.   They were both the first person to achieve a particular sporting distinction last achieved in the 1930's by a man called Perry. Andy was of course was the first person to win the Wimbledon Men's Singles Title since Fred Perry in 1936, while Brian Stock was the first Rovers player to win a Full International Cap for Wales since Eddie Perry in 1938?

2.   Lucas Neill is the most capped player to be associated with the club with his 96 caps for Australia, closely followed by David Healy (95 for N.Ireland) and Neville Southall (92 for Wales).

3.   Pascal Chimbonda (France and Guadeloupe) and Freddy Piquionne (France and Martinique) are the two players associated with Rovers to have played international football for two different countries.

4.   Shelton Martis played for The Netherlands Antilles which was dissolved as a unified political entity on 10 October 2010. The five constituent islands took on new constitutional statuses within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, forming 2 new countries (CuraƧao and Sint Maarten) and 3 new special municipalities of the Netherlands (namely Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius).

5.   Chris Balderstone played cricket for England in July 1976 in between playing for Rovers in 1975-6 and Queen of the South in 1976-7.

6.   Paul A Williams who earned a cap for Northern Ireland. His mother was Betty Williams, the co-recipient with Mairead Corrigan of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1976 for her work as a cofounder of Community of Peace People, an organisation dedicated to promoting a peaceful resolution to The Troubles in Northern Ireland.

7.   Peter Doherty and Dean Shiels

8.   Welsh international David Rhys George Best Cotterill.
