Budtzy still works within the community team and spends a lot of time in schools (alongside Tim Ryan) in and around Donny!

He's always a good laugh and engages the kids fully with his stories of that night!

Top bloke and IMO one of our usual array of keepers over the last 20 years that didn't quite fulfill their promise - Suckling, Smith, Bywater, Blayney, Woods etc!

Blayney. WTF happened there. Didn't he cut his leg on a corner flag and get blood poisoning or similar?

Think you might struggle to beat David Jones at Rochdale.

For the older ones on here - Laurie Sheffield two goals against Lincoln in a 4-0 opening day win leading to winning a Championship?

I was there Dutch. Sheffield also scored a hat-trick on his debut when he left us for Norwich City, in front of the Match of the day cameras.

Dead gutted I was.

Ralph Pedwell. A dream which became a nightmare. Scored twice on his League debut for Rovers. Then in the same game suffered a serious injury which meant he never played for us again.

1938, Bob. I will look up the details of the game etc tomorrow.

Pedwell had joined us from Rotherham in the summer and had been a consistent scorer throughout his previous career.
