Ideally Askern, but it isn't that easy.  We'd ground out a win over Fleetwood with a clean sheet, and the same vs Burton, only a few days before the Gillingham defeat.

Maybe they do favour Rob Jones as PD's successor - perhaps they have thought that for a while?

Any manager coming straight in could lose the nest 3 anyway.

I fully expect a defeat tomorrow. Walsall are already a well drilled side, we're simply not at this stage. Three training sessions is not enough for Jones to turn that around so it would be completely daft to cast judgements off the back of that. It will happen though.

I thought the RJ interview was class. He gave a sense of having a clear input planned and giving it in bite sized pieces (well drilled teaching skills there). If done right, that will give the players a solid idea of what they are required to do without overloading them... lets see. No expectations from me but in a reasoned overoptimistic way, I think we could be on the beginning of a role.

Having said that, my concern with RJ is not that he can't manage five games like a lion king and win on pure growl, but how flexible and sussed he is about the plan B and C side of things, especially if he remains in place and we hit that inevitable dodgy patch.

It'll be nice to have a decent Plan A too.

Got to admit the guy is a true gentleman and a legend at the club, his love for the club is brilliant, it's people like him that raise the hairs on the back of your neck, is their a new chapter about to start at the rovers? Let's get that passion and excitement back.

Wellens never comes across as though he'll be joining MENSA.

Can see what you're saying. My take is they are both knackered, in their own zones, and certainly not reacting to anything the other is saying which you would be able to read if they were at odds with each other.

To me it looks like they don't like each other but don't want to show that.
They don't acknowledge anything the other is saying even when one is joking the other just looks away
