Tonight's attendance
« on September 30, 2015, 12:54:59 am by mrfrostsdad »
I was as much to blame as anyone as I was working tonight. But when was the last time we had below 4700 for a home league game?

Lowest ever at the Keepmoat , and if things don.t improve in the next 3 months then they had better carefully consider the early bird season ticket price .....there's no way i'll pay £400 to watch tier 4  football.  :( P.S and I'm not moving to a cheaper seat .  :P

Things improved last night - we played well second half and should have won the game but for sloppy defending in the 91st minute.

Then again, the folks on here who didn't go, who are slagging off a performance they didn't see, won't help encourage others to attend will they?

Sadly, abject performances turn people off. Donny has more than it's fair share or sunshine supporters.

Nobody wants to see it this way. It hurts everyone, the club most importantly. Wish I could get to more games. My fear is unless they appoint somebody who is a bigger managerial name than Jones (cue Mourinho, Klopp references), the attendances will stay poor. That along with the performances is costing financially.

It's worrying and I don't really know how we solve it (putting the price down a big marketing push and some positivity would help).

Win more football games at home, with more goals.  It is that simple IMHO.

It might not get us up to 10,000 attendances but surely folks will come if there is more entertainment on offer?

Agreed, I mean how many wins in the last 2 years at home?

Not enough BFYP...

we were getting there for what, the last 40% of the game last night, similar vs Oldham.

But fans want decent performances for 75-90% of the game...

same story with a few clubs our size, ive seen crowds little as 1100, in the 70s when we were poor to some fantastic crowds when we were up there, I remember Chesterfield , bradford, they must av bought at least 2000 plus when they were top, if we could get going start pushing for promotion, start thumping some teams not just 1-0s the fans will come, nobody can get to every game but the crowds will be up, at the moment it's all doom n gloom fans moaning none more than me may I add but I think that's just down to frustration, I just hope we can start putting things right soon as, beat the dingles and kick start our season

The only thing that turns round falling attendances is winning football matches, knocking three quid of the admission price isn't going to cut the mustard, casual fans want entertaining and to watch a winning team, if you can't offer that then get used to dwindling crowds.

There's nothing to rack our brains about. It us what it is and we know why it is. Until the show on that green grass delivers, there will not be any significant improvement. No point worrying about something we can't control.

Or alternatively, maybe money is tight and the Barnsley game is a more attractive proposition?

I agree.  When was the last season when we had a really decent run of performances at home (regardless of results) and regularly entertained the fans?  Before the 2011/12 relegation IMHO.

I rather guessed the crowd would be crap last night.
I mean, if you weren't a sth would you turn out on a Tuesday night when the Champions League is on the telly and pay 23 quid for the crap we've been turning out at home for the last couple of years?

Thing is though mfd, you never know when the corner is going to turn - last night we got 2 goals and could have scored more.  Don't get me wrong we were far far from perfect, but we were better and looked like winning.

I'm not a STH this season but I decided to go last minute.  Seems that many who didn't just saw the result and the last minute equaliser to draw their conclusions.

We've been shite at home since the Keepmoat opened. All 8 years of it. Surprisingly - we're undefeated at home in the league this season. Doesn't seem like it but long may it continue.

Looking at other league 1 attendances last night ours was respectable. Although we threw away a victory, 2-2 scorelines will start to attract more fans.
