Too late

The board are going to lose their preferred target

They are prevaricating. Messing about and other clubs look to be in the hunt for the same targets

Get on with it

Well, where do you start with such revelations?
Who is our preferred target - are other clubs after the same - are the directors 'messing about'?

That's a lot of conjecture in a short post.

Would you rather get the wrong one?

There are no guarantees whoever they appoint.
He is going to need an awful lot of luck or be a genius to get this lot playing well and winning though.

And if they did it "too quickly" people would accuse the board of a rush job.

Given the mediocrity of the last few seasons I'm surprised the Board hadn't already identified a 'successor in waiting' prior to this season kicking off.

Maybe I am doing them a disservice, they may have already had a man in mind and are just going through the correct channels to secure him, which I assume can take some time.  :scarf:

Do the board know who they want? They are only just going through the sift and arranging interviews, so I suspect not. Do they have someone in mind probably, but we will probably never know that.

LOL @ The OP.

Typical quality of the posts we see all-to-often on here - over-emotional, without foundation, opinion portrayed as fact.

The Board have chosen to take their time...feels the right approach to me. If it means they miss out on a good candidate, so be it. Better than rushing and appointing the wrong person. Take time, do a thorough selection process, get the right person.

Hopefully they will do background checks for past misdemeanors. That must rule out Fatboy.

So if a candidate switches their attention to another job, do they really want the Rovers job or just a job?

A Rovers manager tombola would be my bet, the lucky or unlucky one, being the ball that springs out of the oyl!

Or they are recruiting carefully.  Do you want us to rush into a bad appointment?

Do you ever post anything positive about DRFC?
