Hands up...
« on October 03, 2015, 09:10:22 pm by i_ateallthepies »
All those on here who've said this season that 'Wellens' legs have gone'.  Was it Wellens or an excorcet missile that screamed past that Barnsley striker to beat him to the ball in the NW corner when he was clean through on goal?

He looks a lot more motivated under Jones. I actually saw him encourage the team today.

Wellens was head and shoulders in front of anyone in a red and white shirt today. Was my MOTM by a country mile.
Dingles no 27 was miles in front of everyone else on the pitch

Every 'Great' athlete, racehorse whatever, has one last hurrah in the legs, though i criticise him, it will be a sad day when him and Coppinger do leave, he has been a fine player no doubt, but i do think the day is drawing near, when a younger option plays instead.

It would be nice if he could be a good influence on the young players, he will have a lot of knowledge to pass on, we will find it hard to replace what he and Coppinger are capable of, they should be respected but also help in the transition, it comes to everybody.

Chuff Me Sammy! I only asked to see who'd spotted Wellens blazing run past the Barnsley striker!

Did anyone else see Wellens squirt water in Wabara's face when he was waiting to take a throw in.

I said Wellens was done but I hold my hands up and admit he was our best player yesterday by a country mile

Are you sure it was water?

The water trick was taken in good spirit as well. In these days of play acting it was nice to see a bit of fun between players.

Indeedy for the one who suggested he ought to influence the younger players.........he probably did. For those that are surprised by his massive improvement in form then the two things could be linked i.e. the former he may have and the latter he now perhaps feels freer and more inclined to play now he has more influence.

He may have been friends/neighbours with Dickov but perhaps not on the field of play. Just a theory and now delighted he wants to express his skills once again with us.

One little cameo from Wellens Saturday is not going to get me reaching for the humble pie...Players can be not interested, lazy for games on end then out of the blue produce a just above average display and everybody starts wetting themselves...Wellens needs to be putting it in for weeks on end before I change my opinion that he's a busted flush.....

RW always seems to be able to pull out a performance in a bigger match.
Maybe the bread & butter games don't get him buzzing anymore.

He was also very good against Swindon in midweek.

Just above average, he was different class..
To think we were playing gobern ahead of him is disgusting
