Jones needs help ,he can't do it all on his own.
I'm sure the new gaffer will bring his own backroom team with him.

He's the guy who gets us all the great goalkeepers.

He's the first team coach. No professional playing experience though. From my conversation with him he's ok on theory but I think we could do with someone a bit more practical experience.

I thought that was Paul Gerrard. He's a respected GK coach and someone we should look to retain.

Half of Lindisfarne is dead now.
Si Cowe died last week and Alan Hull died years ago

Thanks Mrfrostsdad I missed that, very sad. I went to their Christmas Shows at Sheffield City Hall for a few years back in the early '80's and they were absolutely fantastic - if you like that sort of thing of course. I shall be giving Nicely Out Of Tune a spin tonight anyway.

I can still hear 'Meet Me on the Corner.....'  booming out over a floodlit and fog shrouded Belle Vue as I walked away after a Saturday afternoon match....

Never forgotten that song, that album ('Fog on the Tyne' for the young uns on here) :).

Lindisfarne were awesome back in the day!
I remember hearing the 'Fog on the Tyne' album as a spotty 15 year old in 1971 and thinking 'My God!' Bought it again on iTunes recently and it's still great. Saw them a few times at the Gaumont in Donny. Then they split and formed 3 bands, one called Jack the Lad, one carried on as Lindisfarne, and I'm pretty sure at least one of them joined Hedgehog Pie who were an electric folk band at the time. Then they reformed and brought out the album 'Back and Fourth'.

Happy days! Is this a football forum??? 😀😎

Yes that's the period I would have seen them, from about 1982 to 1986 I think it would be.

There is still a band with the name doing the rounds, Ray Laidlaw being the only original member, they played Steve Priest's (of The Sweet fame) festival near me this summer. OK I suppose but how can it be Lindisfarne without Alan Hull?

I dunno about it being a football forum, just seems like a load of people arguing about anything at the moment!
