It's that time of year...

...when the Express tells us it'll be the worst winter since sabre toothed tigers roamed East Laith Gate.

http://www.express.co.uk/news/weather/613168/UK-long-range-winter-weather-forecast-2015-snow

Course, if they are right for once, it could help us. No matches in December and we get a chance for mini-me to bring some reinforcements in come January.

You obviously haven't been down East Laith Gate on a Friday night lately Billy. Some would say they still do roam down there!!

I've heard from a number of sources that it is going to be a very cold winter. Something to do with El Niño.

However the Excess says it will be every year, so doesn't have much credibility. I suppose they work on the basis that they will be proved right one year.

Nathan Rao has made a career out of recycling these stories every year.

What life as an Express reader must be like! The collapse of civilisation just around the corner. Or at least chilblains.

Ah brilliant Bill.
Me and a couple of mates regularly send snaps of the Express scare the f*ck out of the pensioners heatwave, ice age on the way, killer bees from Africa, or b*llocks eating piranha's in the Channel front covers. How this drivel must get discussed at the 8.30am front cover content meeting every day in Lower Thames Street has got to be beyond anybody's comprehension. And we put up with it in the name of journalism. And thats peoples proper jobs? Somebody's buying it.

Last time I was round that way, it was dodgy-toothed Cougars that had the run of the place.

*** if they come back even on the 17th day of a big freeze they will still encounter semi naked people or nutters (delete as applicable) who seem to think its Summer

Don't forget a vague claim of a new wonder drug for diabetes/cancer/heart disease.

We are completely the opposite here in Wisconsin USA. We normally get 100 plus inches of snow, but, due to El Nino we should not get anywhere near that.  Bad for some, good for others.

What's Fernando Torres got to do with the weather?
