I remember saying ''He has no chance at that level, glad to be rid of him, and they have paid us a fee as well'', some supposed scout i am!. :laugh:

I didn't think he would make it either..Always seemed to have one big balls up in him every week and always caught out upfield...Different class now and I've seen him play at the riverside a few times while visiting family and he is pure quality..Just goes to show what better quality coaching can do..

I really rated Friend once he moved to Centre Half! As a Full back he was exposed many times but in the middle I thought he was great for us!

As a Full Back I had the opinion he wasn't slow, but took a very long time to accelerate up to speed.
