Although not covering himself in glory of late I think he should. Not totally convinced with McSheffrey, but like the look of Rowe, and at least has the sense to see that Stuckmann is struggling. If only we could convince him about ATS

He won't have much choice right now in terms of what players he can bring in.

Your not going to get a striker who's banging in goals at this time of the season, you have to pick up what is left and hope you can reinvigorate them to find that scoring touch.

Chris Brown anyone?

Dougie Brown would be an improvement currently.

Based on what!? Give him a chance and Ferguson a little bit of credit for thinking someone with 'experience' can get us out of this mess.

Erm based on having seen him play against us over the last 3 seasons. Unimpresssed.

While I would be disappointed if we signed him pre season it has to be worth a go now

We need a different kind of player to get us out of this mess right now to what we require in the Summer.

Never thought I'd see the day, but I agree. I'm not overly excited by the prospect of McSheffrey. We'll see what he can do, I suppose.

I think we should let him get on with the job, if the unthinkable does happen & then we are languishing midtable or worse in league 2 this time next season, then yes he will have failed. He has made mistakes regarding signings going with youngsters, but he obviously didn't foresee this horrendous run back in January, where I'm sure the plan was to get to the end of the season & strengthen with his own players during pre-season. He has reiterated this week there are things at the club that need to change, but needs to put them on the back burner given our current situation. We are in trouble but if we can give an unproven manager like Dickov time to get it right, then surely a proven one deserves that chance, whatever happens.

Yes I do. Pray we stay up and I reckon he'll knock our socks off with some calibre signings both young and experienced.

To answer the question in the OP, no.

While I am happy with the three signings he's made in the last week, it all smacks of panic. Part of the job of a manager is to be able to distinguish when the rot has set in. Ferguson should have been doing what he's doing now 5-6 weeks ago.

People ask "when did it all go wrong?" For me, the decline started from the Gillingham game in mid-Jan. But there was another pivotal moment: Sheffield United a month later. Rovers produced probably their worst performance since leaving the Conference. That was the moment that Ferguson should have been going to the board, admitting that he was wrong - what we had wasn't good enough to keep us in this division and we needed experienced reinforcements.

If we go down - and I sincerely hope we don't - then Ferguson will either resign or be sacked. But if we stay up by the skin of our teeth then for me he'd be history. He has failed to recognise the danger we are in until it is too late. I don't see any benefit in sacking him now, but I have no faith in his ability to take the club forward.

If he keeps us up, then yes.

If we go down, then he has to go.

Mrs Brown would be a step up.

Or Bobby Brown ''Two can play that game''!. He is shopping in a market so narrow for players at the minute, you would have to shuffle in sideways!. Our manager s don't have massive funds at the start of a season, but at this stage you can't buy anybody, all the clubs want to hold onto players just in case of injuries.
For this stage of the season two players with good experience and ability, and an up and coming goalkkeper, are as good as it gets at this stage!.
He doesn't want to be failing, he is trying to rebuild his reputation, we are a club that's been drifting for a fair while, perfect fit, let's give him a fair chance whether we stay up or go down!.
