Ooh didn't like the criticism of ATS did he
Sorry Dazza but I think if you look at video evidence half the goals were down to him or Cedric the entertainer

Well we were all thinking it. Apart from a few muted clappers

You mean like those who were less than sympathetic when he got injured, ironically during perhaps one of his best performances?

Most of our squad underperformed last season..  But with the departure of Curtis Main we need another scapegoat don't we?

Didn't go tonight. What was the actual question to him about ATS?

Q: What do you make of criticism of ATS?
DF: I'm aware of it & don't agree with it. I tell players not to bother with social media #DRFCMTO

Don't need to look at social media. Just listen to the groans in the stadium.

As supporters we can give an opinion on players, but when you start picking out certain players for criticism, it doesn't help the said player improve, it makes the oppositions job easier, because when you target one, you are targetting the whole team.
Nobody wants 'happy clappers', with no opinion, 'touchline politicians', but surely when you support a side, you support them good or bad. And rather than confronting a player for a bad game, you bottle it up for an argument with you're mates after the game?.
The opposition love crowds, that turn on they're own players, if it's still nil nil after twenty minutes, rather than handing out abuse, just keep supporting the team!.

Speaking of "that question" who asked the club to move the Barnet game because it clashes with an England game?

It doesn't clash anyway (the England game kicks off at 5pm) and if you'd rather watch that bunch of overpaid and over/rated tossers than your team then there's no hope for you.

Solution - show it in the Belle Vue bar and get some extra beer sales.

Some people do actually go to England games. I think that was the point of the question.

England are playing Pakistan on Saturday 27th August at Lords - will we be re-arranging the Yeovil game as some Rovers fans go to cricket games?

Or changing any games that clash with the 6 Nations next year?

I've posted before that we lose on average 500-700 supporters for a mid-week game compared to a weekend game (on average). The number of supporters we lose to an England game would be negligible, although granted some do go.

It would cost the club a lot of money to unnecessarily move this game.

My response was admittedly a bit facetious, but I'd be surprised if they did move the game to accommodate a handful of people who want to watch England-Malta. As has been said, the kick off is at 5 anyway so people can watch both if they are that desperate.

Any chance we can get Exeter away moved? I was hoping to go, but it's on the same date as Wales v Serbia.

In a more serious reply; how many regular match-going Rovers fans would you estimate to be attending England v Malta SM? We are probably talking no more than 30 or so really, are we?

I doubt it's even that many. And anyway, you're telling me that if we play Barnet on a friday night then England play in London the following day that the fans going to Wembley will also go to the Barnet game? No way.

I agree that that was a crap question and we shouldn't be moving games to accommodate the boring, terrible national team.

Sky might want the Barnet kick off changed as they usually show leagues 1 and 2 when it's an international weekend, just a thought

I'd like the New Year's Eve game changed because it clashes with New Year's Eve.

And we are at home the day of the Doncaster VW show in Sept so can we move that. Also, the first home game clashes with a wedding I'm going to so that's another midweek game needed.

I'm playing cricket until the middle of Sept, I would like the home matches that clash with them changed to a Friday afternoon at approx 2.30 so I don't have to book a full day of work

You seem to be allocating the request to have the game moved to myself for some reason.

All I did was clarify the questioners intentions on asking the question.

No, I wasn't allocating the question to you SM, it was clear it wasn't yours as you were merely suggesting the reasoning for it...

...I was just asking you, as someone who watches Rovers and England regularly, how many regular match-going Rovers fans you'd estimate to be attending a game like England v Malta?

What a manager says in public and what he says in the dressing room are two very different things.

Look at Jose Mourinho - any defeat or poor performance is blamed on the referee, negative opposition tactics or even the physio. Do you think he then goes into the dressing room and then says "Never mind lads, we'd have won if it wasn't for that terrible referee"? Does he b*llocks. He goes in and gives them hell. There's just no need to bring it into the public eye. A public criticism of a player should be used a last resort.

Fair play, my misinterpretation of your post.

It never ceases to amaze me just how many Rovers fans do watch England both home and away. During the recent Euros I would suggest that there were somewhere in the region of about 50- 60 at each game. Its obvious I don't know all the Rovers supporters who do attend but I could name a good 30 or so. At the Nice game we (4 of us) were sat in a row immediately behind another 4 Rovers supporters.

The FA keep records of their members and which clubs they support, and that would tie in with my understanding.  For England home games you could double that figure.
