Blair cannot defend, or play wing back,he is a 28year old winger.Just saying like.
Hopefully before it costs us too many points.

I thought Blairy had a relatively quiet game today.

I thought he was going to be one of those hooked, but I think he took Richardson off because he'd run out of steam.

I was impressed with Richardson. Once he gets match fit he'll be useful.

R.B.that last ten minutes without Richardson at right back cost us the game.He had a very usefull debut.
Then we were stuck with Blairy trying to stop the winger from crossing, not his strong point I am afraid.

Richardson my MOM today - solid at the back, big unit who likes to move the ball and not afraid of going forward and decent crosser of the ball. 3 or 4 crosses he put in were our main threat in the first hour but definitely ran out of steam towards the end, hence the substitution. Once he's fit I think he'll be a huge asset to rovers promotion hopes.

Bit unlucky today and we'll win games where we play worse - could have had 5 or 6 goals quite easily and no idea how we lost!!!

Right wing back last 10 mins, and we were losing 1-0 when the formation changed to 3 at back

The mindset after we scored is the reason we lost. If too many players think "thank god for that, we'd be happy with a point" then you are vulnerable.

Shows me that the team don't really have that true belief yet. They don't realise how good they are perhaps. It will come and we will be formidable. We are having to work hard for everything we get at present and sometimes not even getting rewards for that. It will come though,

I thought that Marosi did OK,he pulled off two outstanding saves to keep us in the game in the second half.

Just one of those days today. Team is doing everything right, and with a settled back 4 we will defend better/make less mistakes in future. The future's bright, the future's red n white! :scarf:

Richardson was excellent, a very good signing on that showing. He oozed experience, defended solidly and efficiently and had a couple of good attacks on goal.

Great debut, my man of the match.

Both goals originally came from the full back positions. I don't think any fault is to be attached, the opposing player just got the better of our full backs, and worked enough space to get the cross in.
I don't think marosi could be faulted for either goal. If i hear game management one more time i am going to scream, sick of buzz words.
I thought we had at least got a point when rowe equalised.

I don't want to be a sore loser but if we play like that another day and we will win 6-2, never mind lose.
It's a long time since i have seen a game so dominated by the side that goes onto lose. Credit to crewe though for making the most of the ball when they got it. It seems our not taking our chances hasn't been ironed out yet.

Game management and understanding situations is one of the most important parts of the game. Football intelligence seporates good players and average players.

Fergie is making a few mistakes but mainly he's got us heading on the right path back up the leagues and playing decent football. We'll easily finish in the top 7, if we can get some luck then we'll go up automatic as we are out playing most teams.
