Our youngsters?

I'm not keen on the new EFL Trophy but it does give vital experience to our young lads. What's peoples thoughts on the younger lads and where they'll end up? The likes of Mandeville, Longbottom, Fielding, Garratt and Beestin.

With no development football whether we as supporters don't like the Way EFL trophy has been organised these young professionals have won two games and scored goals on the way. They have even scored from the penalty spot as well. These games will improve their development which will be good for our club.

From DF
DF | Will Longbottom is buzzing and so he should be. We've asked him to toughen up, he's very talented #DRFC

DF | Alfie Beestin and Liam Mandeville were instrumental to both goals. The keeper is getting better & Baudry is ready. A good night #DRFC

I really like mandeville i think he has it in him to be a good player. He needs to keep working hard learning from the good pro's around him and keep working on his strength.
Beestin and longbottom are a bit behind him but are coming on nice, fielding as well. Garratt no doubt he is good enough he just needs to stay fit and play himself into the set up.

Thought Beestin looked a bit out of his depth in the first 20 mins or so, Fielding came on and did really well but started giving the ball away or kicking it out of play in the second half, Longbottom looked nervous but what I liked about him is the way he made sure he got to the ball for his goal, two Derby defenders should have got to the ball well before him. Calder for me was poor, how he got MoM I'll never know

I liked longbottom's bravery for his goal. He didn't get a lot of time to impress but he used the minutes he did have to make an impression.
Beestin is a clever player, games like this will help him.
On calder maybe a bit of confidence lacking because he isn't starting many games.Fielding is just finding his way at the minute, like lund did when he first came in.
I know marosi is our current number one, but i would have liked to see etheridge get a start. At the minute he is going to be feeling a bit left out of things, he needs to have targets to aim at and opportunities to show his worth!.

I have to take my hat off to Fergie. I think he's used this competition very well. He also seems well versed in the nooks and crannies of the rule book!
