I'm not a big Darren fan,yes I'm disappointed that we didn't win the league today and maybe we might have blown it . How many of the people on here would have settled for a top 7 finish this season before a ball was kicked in August, I guess about 75% plus.
Next season I'll be happy to finish above 20th position.
One last thing.

The title of this thread is 'Our fans' so I will return to that subject.
I thought the Black Bank were superb today and certainly did their bit in trying to push the team over the line.

The fans are not to blame if we don't claim the title. There aren't that many of us, and our attendances could be better, but the fans have generally played their part this season.

It's up to the players now. Frankly, they have let us down over the last 4 games and they need to pull their socks up and win in style at Hartlepool, then pray that results elsewhere go our way.

Because 'Our fans' deserve the title.

Yeah and he wasted it on random kids when it was fairly obvious some leadership and experience was needed.

Which would cost a lot more than an inexperienced kid.

Went to today's game expecting so much - a performance and a win. Got neither and that is what hurt today- the manner in which we lost. A really inept performance from a team that has been the best side in this league this campaign - so disappointing to end it on a whimper.

Three out of the last four home games have been the same with the same result. All season unbeaten at home then lose three, blow the title, top scorer starved of the ball. May not good enough gets game every week. Grant not good enough gets game every week. Mason not a full back had moved into enforced position due to Houghton's injury did good but put back at LFB tried yesterday but had a very good winger against him and came second. In the first 15 it was obvious how fast and dangerous they were but we kept building from the back slowly and squarely and got clobbered. Then the long ball every time to the left with a player in acres on the rigt screaming for the ball, waving and screaming and totally ignored. That lost the game yesterday and also since Plymouth...

Well I for one have started to drag myself out of the pit I was in last night, and I have a funny feeling we're going to win the title at Hartlepool next weekend.

Come on you Reds!!!!

Plymouth fan here! We have the same doomsday merchants here when all is not well. You have been the best footballing side this season and should be champions by now. But that's footy for you!

I too have recovered and put the results of the last three Games into the context of a very satisfying season. My disappointment is not as strong as my disgust at the criticisms of the usual moaners on here .

Darren Ferguson has apologised to the Doncaster Rovers supporter he had a verbal altercation with towards the end of Saturday’s home defeat to Exeter City.

Tend to agree with Ferguson really.

My point is that really they only receive criticsm when they can't be bothered - which clearly isn't the case.

Understandable that people are frustrated but some of the rubbish some people spout is awful.

Was in the west stand Saturday and didn't hear what was said or who shouted out.

Fergie obviously heard it but not sure he knew who it was because whoever it was never identified himself or said another word after Fergie turned round.

Agree with Fergie though - to call the players a disgrace was/is harsh

Agree with the previous, Fergie did right to defend his players his reaction was said on the spur of the moment which the vast majority of us would have done. To condemn him for last season was also wrong he inherited a team from the previous manager who had been put under extreme pressure from the Ryan/Tomlinson debacle.

As good as DF has done this season, and i acknowledge that fact, it is crazy to say that he wasn't at fault for relegation last season.
He came in early enough, got the team into a good position (with Dickovs squad) then led the team into a 19 game run with no wins.

Probably didn't have the resources at that time.
To be honest what really sickens me is the baying mob giving Fergie and the team a lambasting when they had ample opportunity to do so at the recent question and answers session but I suppose they don't possess the bottle.

Did he not come out and say he didn't feel we needed any further defenders? sounds to me as though he actively chose not to bring any in.

For my part, nothing to do with bottle.
More to do with not having time to attend due to a busy life.
However, I don't recall the meeting taking place after this run of bad results.

Everybody has a bad run, ours is now,
Certainly no need for all this negativity after the season we've had

From the three matches immediately prior to the meeting I maybe wrong but to my reckoning we took 1 point from a possible 9. I thought the meeting was on the 25th.
