Cheltenham's Big No19 Kyle Wooton
« on March 12, 2017, 10:27:56 pm by Rovers Return »
Don't know if has been mentioned before and apologies if it has. The big lad upfront for Cheltenham was Kyle Wooton a Donny lad. He used to play Rugby at the Knights as a young boy with my boys. He was kicking a football one day during a break. His Mum turned to me  and said that he wanted to go to football. I watched him for a short time and was very impressed and told her she should take him, he's pretty good. She said his Dad would be mortified as he is a big Rugby fan. I gave her a telephone number for Epworth Colts and the rest is history. He played for the Colts and was picked up by Scunny and is currently on loan at Cheltenham. I never recognised him until my lad said " You know who that big striker is Dad don't you"?

The trouble with the Rovers was they never used to come at look at the Colts and let  Scunny pick up all the lads.
