Waterdale

Walked through Waterdale yesterday not been that side of town for years
Going through a major revamp but was desolate, not sure what can be done to get it busy again though
Main point of post though - the statue in the middle, is this the old one that was in Arndale Centre ????

The erection was first put up in the Arndale in the 60's. I was surprised to see it had been put up again in Waterdale.

Desolate? Are you sure? 90% of the units are now occupied. There are some great independant shops down there.

Finally (and this ties in with the demolition of Queensgate and the new units on Kingsgate) the major hope to increase footfall which has been decimated since the Southern Bus Station and College closed is the Cinema complex which is currently crawling it's way to the start of construction.

Interesting that they are spending money on the Collonades.

I believe the cinema when i'm sat in it ;)

Is there a link to plans anywhere Sad.
I used to have to walk through Waterdale on way home from school and it was always busy with some good shops
Seemed to have been about 10 people about when I walked through but at least you can see there is some effort going in
Good luck with lego shop, got to admit I walked by there with a big smile on face

I was always rubbish with Lego when I was a kid. My inability to grasp the basics meant that I couldn't build the simplest of constructions. Then after hours of practice, everything just clicked.
