Regardless of for how far he was being fouled, he was still being fouled in the box, at which point he went down. Does that make it not a penalty because (you say) the fouling began outside of the box? Ref saw him fouled in the box, he's entitled to award a penalty.I note nobody is disputing that he was being fouled.
Deluding yourselves guys. Longbottom was holding the player around the waist right up to the point where the player went down, pulling himself out of Longbottom's hold. That was inside the area. The only point I agree with you on is that we have all seen far better shouts for penalties turned down. Nevertheless, the defender was committing a foul. Nothing more to say.
