They say things even out over the season. We are due a shed load of luck in these next 3 games if that's the case

Regardless of for how far he was being fouled, he was still being fouled in the box, at which point he went down.  Does that make it not a penalty because (you say) the fouling began outside of the box?  Ref saw him fouled in the box, he's entitled to award a penalty.

I note nobody is disputing that he was being fouled.

It's the initial contact that's the deciding factor isn't it? Which was outside so no penalty

You can blame the ref all you want - but for me yet again we didn't take the chances in the first half. We are passing around edge of box when we we should get a shot on target, or taking an extra touch then blocked. Some good chances and good saves by their keeper but we should do better. I counted 4 good chances in first half and you have to put a least one away. Go in at half time 1 or 2 up and it's a different game. Ref's aren't perfect but neither are our players...

I am!  It was barely a foul and there was much worse going on (against Marquis, repeatedly wrestled around his neck and shoulders) that wasn't given..

And from what I saw on the day and on the video the "fouling"had finished before the player was in the box..

It was not a penalty, and its not the first time that has happened to us - vs Watford last championship season was  even worse as their player was fouled (it was a foul) not only outside the box but moving away from it, as I recall..

Just because the ref gave it, doesn't mean he wasn't mistaken..

This to me was as clear not a penalty as the first one was!

I am with IDM on this pies.
The very slight contact was outside the box, our player stopped when the attacker went past him.
There was no further contact by a defender and the Blackpool player simply moved forward and fell into the box.
Clearly not a penalty.
Furthermore this indicated by the linesman but ignored by the ref who did not have a clear view of what happened.

Fully agree with IDM and hound on this one. Watched the replay many times and no matter what I do I cannot get the initial contact to be inside the box. Anyone who sees otherwise really should go to Specsavers!!

Deluding yourselves guys.  Longbottom was holding the player around the waist right up to the point where the player went down, pulling himself out of Longbottom's hold.  That was inside the area.  The only point I agree with you on is that we have all seen far better shouts for penalties turned down.  Nevertheless, the defender was committing a foul.  Nothing more to say.

The initial contact/foul was outside the box its as simple as that so its a foul not a penalty

And I still don't think it was much of a foul, much less than Marquis was receiving..

It wasn't holding or a push - watch the feet, he tripped him.
