some of us were brought up to Hartlepool continually applying for re-election in the 1960's year after year
they had to re-apply for re-election and the old boys club kicked in "turkeys not voting for Christmas"

from memory until about the 1990's they had never been above the 4th division or whatever you want to call it

Funnily enough I thought they would make the top ten this season with some good signings

His first comments were that he felt bad for Hartlepool; not that his team had just lost the title. Surely his first and foremost concern should be for that of Doncaster Rovers. I understand he'd feel for them there and then...it sounded as though the changing room wasn't that gutted either according to him.

Firstly let me take time out and apologize to our fans who have again travelled in great numbers; we should have won the title and you know what we...myself included have let the fans & club down. We are promotoed though and that was the goal at the start of the season...but what we saw out there today wasn't good enough and we know that.

Game wise today...Hartleppol showed real bottle; unfortunately for them they've come up short. It must be tough for them to take...but I'm sure they can bounce straight back up.
