Old Man in Dugout
« on September 30, 2017, 12:54:24 am by RoversAlias »
Not our dugout, but I thought it interesting and after some research (meaning a quick google, I will admit) I even found a tenuous Rovers connection!

The story is of Falkirk's new interim manager Alex Smith, who will be in the dugout tomorrow at the fine age of 77, making him the oldest manager in all of Europe. Smith began his managerial career in 1968, and the Rovers connection is that he was best man at Billy Bremner's wedding! Apparently they came through the same youth team at Stirling and maintained a friendship thereafter.

More power to him I say, although I'll be surprised if Falkirk give him the job full time!

From the title, I thought this was going to be a thread about Alex Ferguson stepping in for Darren!

Oh well...

Full time might not be a long time in this case.
