Marquis was caught when he had an open goal , deffinite penalty and

we need reincarnation of the twin towers (Jones , McCombe) badly.

What on earth is garrett doing for that 3rd goal. Absolute shocking defending

All Garrett needed to do was go to the ball, mason had got back to cover the bloke in the middle
But he just ran towards the goal which helped nobody, possibly the worst bit of defending I've ever seen.

Give over , Mason never got in a position to cover their #30  or he would have got to the ball first, as he was in front of their man  . Garrett made the bast of a bad situation, trying to cover Alcock while keeping an eye on #30

You didn't see Evina and the "controller ran out of batteries" disaster on the line in that away game the other year then?

Last goal was down to Alcock but Harrison took it well

Look here, he's just ran in a straight line to our goal. Mason is in a position to deal with the bloke in the middle, garret going to the ball would've given their player a decision to make. Running away from their player did nothing at all to help the situation

No way was it a penalty when Marquis missed that easy chance in the first half.

No way that is Garratts fault! Mason is never goal side of their man. If Garratt goes across to the man Alcock had just given the ball too the Bristol player Garratt is running back with (which Mason is the wrong side of) would of had a 30 yard run at goal for a 1 on 1.

The goal came from poor defending/touch by Alcock in which should be a comfortable position to play out from.

Their first comes from poor effort from Blair to win a header then Alcock clearing it straight to their player who is about 30 yards out... Put your foot through it!

Their second comes from Mason (which Butler, Baudry or Wright would of won) being beat to a header in the 18 yard box, then the Bristol player does well to bring it down and smash it in.

Disagree
If garratt runs to the ball even if he's left a man the bloke has to pass it and there's a good chance Garratt would block the pass.
Running with the other player is ok for so long but there comes a time when he has to go to the ball otherwise the player has a free shot on goal

It's basic defending

Garrett should have at least tried to run at an angle as you say. Alcock just couldn’t get close enough to Harrison to foul him.

Garratt is so poor. How some of our fans can say he’s improving is beyond me. I can’t see one good attribute he has.

He links up well with Rowe down the left, generally looks to use the ball well and put in a good cross for Beestin to score from on Tuesday. We looked far more balanced when he came on in that game. On the other hand there are times when he is pushed off the ball too easily and he doesn’t always judge distances or high balls confidently. But I don’t think he’s a write off by any means. He’s a young lad. I accept it’s stretching things to expect him to play every game, but I think he definitely has something to offer the squad right now.

Personally I would play Danny Amos at left back. He is a much better player than Garrett. Why is it other clubs will give teenagers a chance but we always seem reluctant to unless it is a checkatrade or whatever game?

Easy to be an expert from a high up camera view in slow time. Much different at pace on the pitch.

I do agree he made an error but it happens quickly.  The key is to learn from positioning like this for him and for me the next 4 months will make or break his career here now. He needs a run in the team to learn from these situations.

Nicely Chosen  frame Mr D , but take one 2 second earlier and Mason is a couple of yards behind Garrett, giving Garrett no choice but to cover the man in the middle.

Can argue all day who is at fault but with the defence we had available the poor defending in general was there to be seen.hope there is good news for the line up for next week

Like I said there's no point in just covering the man in the middle cause the player will just run in on goal and score like he did.
Go towards him and leave the player and your then making the player pass and he'd have had to pass around or over garratt.
Im not saying I'm an expert but he's a professional footballer and it's poor decision making, and I guramtee he's been told so.
I quite like him on the ball just needs to improve defensively

Not so sure Cantley. If you watch it again, the Bristol player takes a swipe with his right leg and catches Marquis's standing foot.

The man who knows them best must think Garrett is better.

Yes he obviously does. It doesn't mean I have to agree with him though.

Being as unforgiving as Ferguson has shown he is, I'm surprised Amos hasn't been started ahead of Garrett at least once.
