Has sadly been forced to retire. Terrible for the lad, was a cracking player and, despite never kicking on at Spurs, could have had a very long career but for that clash of heads.

To retire. Sad news. He was a decent player for us. Horrific head injury. All the best to the lad.

Remember him absolutely running the show for us against Barnsley at Oakwell. A classy player, must have been awful news to hear. Would have had a good career

Has had to announce his retirement from football at the age of only 26 due to the fractured skull he sustained at Stamford Bridge this time last year. The injury he suffered was due to an accidental clash of heads with Gary Cahill.

He was a Rover albeit on loan for a very short time when he was still a teenager & was a very promising young player who earned himself a cap for his country.

I remember him very well playing for us in a game at the County Ground Nottingham and on that day he was the best player on the park.

All the very best Ryan for you and whatever you go onto  achieve in your life and future career.

Footballers get stick sometimes but as this illustrates it can be a short career

He was a promising talent whilst at Rovers. Technically gifted, superb balance and great drive and vision. Having checked the stats did he really only make 20 appearances for Rovers and only score one goal? He seemed to be around a lot longer than that. I remember losing Sharp, Hayter and Mason all in the first week of the 2011 season for long periods of time and thinking that was our season done, and it was.

Real shame he’s had to retire, he would have had a good career at the top level. Be nice to invite him up for a game in the future?

Sad news, but at the same time good for him if it means he can live a normal life. At least he made a bit of money playing at the top level. Head injuries are no joke.

Terrible news he didn’t look convinced when he was interviewed after returning to training
Best of luck to him as stated before he looked class when on loan to us - obviously from same youth set up as Harry Kane as I think he was on loan to millwall at same time

Think it was live on Telly at the time and it was a long time before they could even get him off the Pitch

Time flies - already a year since the injury.

Dont worry about the Link as it is not something anyone would want to watch again - although it just looks like a clash of heads. The difference is the Players and Ref knew it was bad immediately
