Dingles
« on April 25, 2018, 06:30:46 am by roversdude »
Not looking good for them after losing their game in hand
They have to play Brentford (h) and Derby (a)
3 points behind Bolton but with a far superior goal difference

Bolton have to play
Burton (a) and Forest (h)

Burton are to their credit still in it and below Barnsley on goal difference but have
Bolton (h) and Preston (a)

Birmingham still not safe but should have enough points in the bag unfortunately
They have
QPR (a) and Fulham (h)

As alluded to on a previous thread we are going to have a fair few local games next season and a visit from Mackems

Sunderland are obviously going to bring a fair few but surprising how far away it is from Donny. About the same distance to get somewhere like Cambridge, Northampton, or Coventry.

Why does that surprise you? Not trying to be a dick, just curious.

It looks a tight battle at the bottom now and Burton have certainly got themselves into the fight. They should be well up for that Bolton game now knowing it could put safety in their own hands.

what that means is that sunderland can be omitted from a pre-season friendly at the keepmoat

perm any 2 from 3 ie Sunderland Middlesbro & Newcastle now becomes 2 from 2 ?  with Derby & Forest waiting in the wings

apparently Dingles played as if resigned to relegation if u saw the 3rd goal - it summmed them up

whats happened to the Dingles investors? If they are serious it would make sense for them to invest to keep em in the championship rather than take em down to bring em back up again. They must be fit and proper people as they have received the seal of approval.

It isn't the fit and proper persons test. It's owners and directors test, isn't it? all they have to do is prove a business plan exists and that it's financially viable, I seem to remember.

A bit more to it than that.

I can see the same thing happening to Sheffield United if there is a change of ownership.
Once local interest is lost by the owners, more clubs go tits up than flourish, Nottingham Forest, Coventry, Weeds United he he, Sunderland, Aston Villa, Birmingham, just to name a few.

The Barnsley fans l know say It's not to do with the new owners, its Cryne's signings last summer to replace the players lost in the January window that aren't yet good enough. Off the field the clubs improved ten fold with the marketing etc from the new owners, it's their first summer coming up and they're expecting a lot of big sponsorship deals.

We will see, most of the foreign owners have soon lost interest when having to put money in with not a lot of return.
There are the six top clubs, and probably half a dozen more, if that, that are a viable money maker for the owners, mostly it is the value of the land the stadium is on that is the attraction.

As far as I know, 50% of the value of the ground is owned as a covenant by the council that keeps the area as a sports field. This was brought about when a previous owner, before Cryne had looked into selling the ground and moving.

Sorry, did Patrick Cryne actually sign players? Or are you saying that the budget for signings wasn't good enough?

Yes, identified by their spreadsheet. It was Patricks plan years ago.
