Why not use the amphitheatre at the Keepmoat to show the games this Wednesday and Saturday/Sunday, about time it was used.

Tend to agree on this, it would make sense.

But it's Croatia, so they'll be ripping cravats off people.

Who's paying?

Who could be setting up the bars and helping the profits of Club Doncaster.
Always looking for the positives eh Glyn

They have tried live games before. Might have been the Euros. I seem to remember they were showing a film first. I don't know how successful it was but perhaps the lack of one this time tells its own story.

It would be a big commitment to set everything up and of course is the English weather reliable enough?

The weather let it down last time. Though we're in the middle of a heatwave this time...

There was hell on in Bradford when it was announced that no matches would be shown on the big screen in Centennary Square.
It looks like it was possibly the right decision looking at Nottingham.

I think a big screen somewhere in town for the final would do well should we get there.

I'd pay a fiver to park my car and a tenner to get into the Keepmoat. And have a burger and pint to share the experience of winning a WC semi final game with 7,000 other Rovers fans. The atmosphere would be worth every penny. Absolute Heaven!

Best place for it would be at Cusworth Hall, they could have the screen at the bottom of the hill so everyone on the slope can see it.

I could be wrong but isn't the pond/lake on the East of Cusworth Hall? So the sun would be facing a screen at the bottom of the hill and give glare. Less of an issue with an evening game but would still be a potential problem.

Looking at a map it looks like it'd be on a SW-NE angle.

Thinking again that the market place could be quite good as it already has a screen in place.

I walk up Cussy most days Glynn; in the late afternoon, the sun is mainly to the west.

...the experience of winning a WC semi final game with 7,000 other Rovers fans

but you can imagine the whining if the performance wasn't up to scratch - i mean, it'd probably be considered to be just about ok getting to the final an' all, but what if the team turned in the bare minimum to get the job done, or only drew and blagged it on penalties - the seethe would be of epic proportions !

Likely to be a problem. Such a great venue for a rock festival though - made many a plan sat on the hall steps back in the 70's to get the Sabbs to play there.

It has to be the market place - it's perfect and tried and tested pubs in all directions and we are used to setting up the vendors for the continental markets . Run a huge beer tent at the back of the square and insist that all the pubs dish out plastic pint pots. There is an alternative venue at Clock Corner if the Frenchgate screen can be adapted for the game ?

In all venues , pubs a " no glass " policy could be in force for safety reasons . Trouble is how is it paid for in the market place or does it need to be given the income take from vendor slots ?

Asked the council on Twitter about a big screen on Sunday if we win on Wednesday, this was the reply..

Hi Karl, unfortunately not. however, a list of recommended places where the games can be watched will be on our Visit Doncaster website.
