Transfer Fees
« on July 10, 2018, 09:45:20 am by karlos »
Why is it when our club comes to receive transfer fees we don't seem to get as much as what other clubs receive. For example if JM  was at say Peterborough then they would be asking a lot more for him.
I feel we don't push hard enough for what our players are truly worth in today's market we just make do and say thankyou.

Matt mills, Billy Sharp are just a couple of players who i think if they were at other clubs would have commanded bigger transfer fees.

Is it bad negotiations????

Mills was probably right at that point in time. Sharp was because he had a release clause, wasn't it?

but a million for JM what would other clubs be asking i.e Coventry for the lad they have just sold, i just feel we get short changed when it comes to transfer fees.

What's the point speculating about what JM may go for when we don't even know he's leaving, let alone for what price?

NickDRFC because its about what we value a player at and what we receive for any player, JM was a example and hopefully he stays  but my point of the thread is about what transfer fees we receive compared to other clubs

I think we don't hear what average clubs get for their players, we just get the news about the selected transfers that have focus on them.

It's been a long time since we actually sold a player. Lets see how much we get if JM goes to judge because we are a different club now behind the scenes

Do the Directors personally negotiate transfers? I always thought that was the job of Gavin but clearly you know how our clubs run better than me

Ok then, because we have the same directors the club has not changed at all in that time and will not be capable of it ever, you've convinced me. That isn't an ignorant view at all
