We are probably on wrong Thread with this but I found the following :

The new rule is in regards to yellow cards and the way they are brandished by a match referee. The FA have revealed that any bookings issued this season will be competition specific.

What it means is should a player be cautioned in an FA Cup fixture then that booking will only count in that competition.

Therefore, a player could pick up five bookings in a league match but wouldn't be suspended should the club's next match be a cup game. It will mirror that of the Champions League and the Europa League.

Tranmere is near enough for the ferry terminal for McCulloch to nip across the water for home visits.

Takes 8 hours on ferry ⛴ from Birkenhead, 45 minutes on the plane ✈️ from Robin Hood

Actually the quickest way is through the Mersey tunnel. The last time I went there to see us play, we only seemed to be in the tunnel 5 or 10 minutes.

They must have done a job on the Mersey tunnel if it now connects the west coast to Northern Ireland!

Sorry guys, I've got hold of the wrong end of the stick again; I somehow forgot Luke was from NI; God knows why, but I thought he was a scouser.

I think I need to lie down in a darkened room; not for too long though, we're getting nearer to kick-off.

I'll probably forget Alias, and try to get into the North Stand.

Have to say I think LM has been unlucky with injuries. But he’s been here, what, five years and hasn’t nailed down a place on the starting team sheet regularly? A change of scenery where he gets games will be good and it will show whether h is worth persisting with or not. For me, it’s a no but I hope he proves me wrong.

amazed they gave him No.12 shirt how come this hadn't been allocated expected an "inflationary" number like 33 or above

A Freudian slip ??? meaning it could be all season ?? if he plays ok til Jan ?

nice to see he was "all dressed up with somewhere to go"
Tranny seemed a good fit

He's not a defender either, so that doesn't bode well for him.

Gazlaz, you must have had your eyes closed then when he played against Cavani for N.Ireland against Uruguay then, or you know sod all about football.

And against a full Spanish side when NI got a creditable 0-0 draw.

Kongolo played out of his skin against Arsenal, it doesn’t make him a world beater does it.

Gaz, in our abysmal finish to our promotion season, he was voted man of the match in about four out of our last six games that season.
Not much I agree when you consider the form of some of his teammates, and the positions fergie picked players in, but he didn't have many bad games when fit to play in the last few seasons with us compared with a few others.
He also won MOM votes in games last season on this forum. He maybe someone we are pleased to welcome back after Christmas to cover a couple of positions, if he stays fit and plays well at Tranmere.
According to supporters on their forum he did well in his first game for them anyway.

He also put in the worst performance I’ve ever seen at Hartlepool as well.

That’s irrelevant though, I’m not doubting he can be a 4th division plodder sat in front of a back four knocking it sideways, looking pretty assured and putting a foot in. I just think he could have a better career as a centre half. It’s a bit like Eric Dier, I’ve always said he’s not a midfielder. He does a job at Spurs plodding around surrounded by some top players, put him in a moderate England midfield and he doesn’t look great. If Dier was at a Leicester or an Everton playing at centre half every week he would look a serious player.

We were winning 1-0 when he went off, and Mason and Alcock were worse than him that day, plus the manager said he played him when not fit.
Plus the manager when taking him off, ignored Keegan a straight like for like change, put Grant on who like the other two had been out of form for weeks, and made three positional changes at the same time.
I rate that game as one of the worst single management  performances of my 67 years of watching any standard of football, that result at Hartlepool lies at the feet of the master tactician that was Fergie for me. I don't think I have ever seen a player fail to complete a pass to a teammate so many times in a game as Alcock did that day, and I am including school games I have watched.

Ferguson said after the game that he made a big mistake playing McCullough at Hartlepool as he was nowhere near fit enough to play. That was one of the times Fergie actually took the blame for something so it's completely unfair to criticise McCullough for that one.

An even worse decision was to take Copps off. We went to pot straight after that.
