Matty Blair

I know some have stated that’s he’s not a central midfielder - but today was his best game in a Rovers shirt for ages & looked at home in the centre. I know by trade he’s a winger but he showed today he can tackle, shoot & pass. Congratulations Matty on becoming a real alrounder - he stepped into Tommy’s shoes and was outstanding

Well you must be watching a different player he ran forward and scored against Newcastle U23 on Tuesday he was blocked doing the same thing. His passing was very poor I’m sorry he got mom today because he scored and nobody else excelled.

Steve. We won. But don't let that improve your weekend, man.

You could see what it meant to him to get that goal, it was his best for the Rovers (up there with that brilliant move in the 5-1 win at Morecambe) and I hope he takes the responsibility on and does well in Rowe's absence.

Almost as important as his goal, in injury time he did a lovely little flick and chase to get the ball away from the Luton midfielder in the dying seconds and charged up to the corner breaking up their spell of pressure and all but winning us the game.

How anyone can criticise him is beyond me, the man is a hero.

I agree with Steve to a degree. He hasn't got the quality...but he has a massive heart and he busts a gut every time he pulls the shirt on.

Absolutely.
Brilliant bit of smart thinking by Matty that was....exactly what we needed at that moment.
