Scunthorpe home game 15/12/18
« on October 12, 2018, 06:46:13 pm by Draytonian III »
As we all know the kick off has been changed to 12:15 ,is this because of police advice ? Usually home games versus our claret and blue neighbours attract a crowd of 8,500 - 9,000. On Friday 09/11/18 there is another local derby but with teams from the same city, the same police force will in attendance, but the kick off for this match is at 19:45 .
I wonder why this kick off has been moved to a time when a lot of pubs will have been open at least 8 hours ?

It could be because most police forces now work 12 hour shifts, changing over at 0700 and 1900. I know North Yorks do anyway.
This would mean extra support from the early shift for an early kick off and the night shift for a 1945 kick off.
Just a possibility

...OR the same Cops cover the 2 events and  move from one Game to the other thus MAXIMISING their overtime "take"

(Cynical - yep)
