Nothing may be in the public eye but you would expect GM has identified possible replacements just in case..

Speak to Blades fans about Sharp. They love him but freely admit he needs 6/7 chances to score.

Back to John’s miss on Saturday, to put it into perspective he tried to take the back of the net out against Burton which led to him putting it over the bar so on Saturday he tried to pass it in but under hit it. I would be more worried if he wasn’t creating these chances

All the good strikers miss more than they put away, but aren’t afraid to put themselves into the next scoring position.

Even the very best can go round the keeper and fail to score with an open net in front of them.

I had forgotten about that one BST.
If he can do it, anyone can.

That’s exactly why I asked the question. How many goals would a clinical striker score in this team. Yes he brings a lot to the team with his work rate etc, but for me he misses too many sitters.
As for if there’s a better striker in the league that’s a difficult question because we aren’t comparing like for like. You might have a striker in another team who don’t create many chances but converts the majority or chances he gets. How many goals would such a striker score in our team who create more chances than most ( was it 33 shots on goal against Gillingham at Home , when Marquis missed 3 sitters ?)Put Marquis in a team that doesn’t create many chances and he wouldn’t have 20 goals

All strikers miss chances, if sharp played for us he too would miss chances as he did when he played for us before

Two completely different types of striker, Billy the classic fox in a box JM the workhorse will always miss more than he scores
