I can’t see how the signing of those three players was the downfall of our season.
It was more to do with having players like chaplow, Taylor Sinclair, Williams, Stuckmann all on big big wages. Leaving us with nothing available to spend without getting rid of some.
That squad that started the season was abysmal and the wage bill was bigger than it is now. unbelievable really

Where do get this drivel from?

Stuckmann, Williams and Chaplow were three of our highest paid players and none of them were good enough.

That team against stoke is shocking and the wage bill was bigger than it is now. That’s not drivel that’s a fact

Shocking enough to cause Stoke plenty of problems and get into the top six.

Mmmmm, I seem to remember we were in the top six after winning 3-0 at Southend on 2nd January.
Might be wrong though.

Strange how you can’t acknowledge those facts when considering Ferguson but can when considering the players playing for him.
They got relegated.

Nobody in their right mind could even suggest that the squad we had then is anything like what it is now

Really.
Well if that is right then fair enough.
I did say I might have been wrong though.

You haven't answered my question.

And just stating things as a fact doesn't make it one.

I get this drivel from what the board say publicly, from what you say on here, from events such as meet the owners.
It was said numerous times that season rhatvwe needed to reduce the wage bill as it was a championship wage bill still, youve said it yourself on here and it was said at meet the owners.
So it’s not drivel to suggest the wage bill is lower now than it was then, it’s not drivel to suggest this squad is better than it was then, Stevie wonder will tell you.

Who cares.?  We are 6th in the table in great form and in the 5th round of the cup for the first time in generations..

Why does it matter now what happened 2/3 years ago.??

What was wrong with Williams? He scored 16 goals that season in a struggling team.

It was one piece of recruitment that Dickov actually got right that summer.

I'll tell you what was wrong with him.

When we needed senior pros to put in performances to pull of us out of our nose dive, he vanished. He was an embarrassment. The antithesis of John Marquis.

Freud would have called it "sublimation".

We're all so stressed about Sunday, we want to go and have a w**k at Clock Corner. But being mature folk, we suppress that primal urge and do the socially acceptable alternative.

Shit on Ferguson.
