I fancied going on the train to this one, but I've looked online and the journey looks horrendous.

Can anyone who's been there on the train shed some light on this?.

Train to kings cross, train to Wimbledon , 5 min bus is taxi door to door. Station and ground are in same road.

It says on the internet Adam, that the nearest station to Kingsmeadow is Norbiton, and to get to Norbiton, you have to change at Vauxhall.

Train to Norbiton from central London is from Waterloo so not that convenient from Kings Cross - quickest route probably is via Vauxhall. It looks difficult but probably only 50 minutes or so from Kings Cross to Norbiton.

Sounds like it would be a lot easier and probably cheaper to go on the supporters bus.

I went last year when it was red hot. It’s not too bad. Vauxhall and then on train for about 20 odd mins. I think we got off at New Malden.

Is it true about not being able to go direct to Kings Cross from Peterborough onwards.

I don't like coach travel for long journeys mate, I prefer the train.

While you are there mate, they owe us £125,000.
We were in the cup a day longer than they were.  ;)

I'm doing it from memory, so forgive me if I'm slightly off. We were in central London for a prem game the day after, so got an over ground train to new malden, nr Wimbledon.  Now I think on, Vauxhall sounds familiar as the departure staion. but it was deffo all the way to the same road basically as the football ground, and there was a good bus.service to right outside the ground. Not the worst journey but we were stopping over night so it.was.easier.  if i was going for the day, id probs go on the coach.

Roughly 45mins from kings cross to norbiton change at Vauxhall or can also do change at Leicester Square and Waterloo then a 12 min walk to ground

Get on Megabus - it’s cheaper!

Be about 20 return, gets you into St Pancras at 12.30 - leaves at 7.30pm so perfect for football!

It’s a coach to East Midlands Parkway, one hour, then a 1hr30 train from there to St Pancras - same coming back!

Cheaper than messing about with LNER even including discounted tickets with DNA card or whatever!

I looked at this way. It’s £15 on megabus and then the return train to/from Norbiton is around £11. Supporters coach is £27 so not a lot in it really, just depends if you’re comfy on a coach for that long or not

As a car driver everywhere, me and the mrs went on one of them coach holidays to the IOW last week. I have to say I really enjoyed the coach ride to Pompey, modern coaches are very comfortable, toilet on board if you need it as well, and the best part was no bloody driving for a few hours, just sat back and let the motorways roll by. Would certainly have no hesitation doing it again for the few hours it took.

From Kings Cross, get the Victoria Line (Underground) to Vauxhall.
Change at Vauxhall for a train (National Rail) to Norbiton.

The Tube will be busy as you get on (as it goes by Oxford Street), but the Victoria Line is pretty rapid compared to the other lines so it'll be far from horrendous. Allow yourself an hour and 10 minutes to do Kings Cross to the actual ground, but if all goes smoothly you'll do it in under an hour.

I'm going, but I'm driving there. I'd offer you a lift but I'm setting off from Solihull!

I'm going over from Ireland for it. Staying with a friend in London for the weekend so happy days.

Beware though,  England are playing in the six nations in Twickenham that day too. Don't think that's a million miles from Wimbledon too so bear that in mind too.

That's  2 tickets purchased, along with watching wolves beat Chelsea on the Sunday. Should be a good weekend.

They actually play in Kingston-upon-Thames. They are planning to move back to Wimbledon soon.

Picked train tickets up for £14.90 well in advance for this one, nice to get off the tube every couple of stops for a beer anyway, can’t wait. Just hope there is still tickets for general sale Monday!
