A slight detour but as I think he lives in Australia now I will use that as cover - anyone else remember the TV show about Britain’s tightest people and the steward bloke from Belle Vue was on there? Used to pick up toilet roll thrown on pitch and take home after match. Was in period when we got zero media attention and this was a real profile-raising opportunity for Rovers.

A mate of my old fella, him. Sure he used to live in Armthorpe.

I met this guy in Wellington NZ at a test match he was living in Perth

He lives in Rockhampton, near Brisbane now. He's coming back for the playoffs Final if we get there.

Must be f**king agony for him paying for that flight back.

Since I moved to Northern Ireland I’ve learned that Dutch uncle is also there although we haven’t met yet. I’m sure we will do in the near future.  My grandma lived opposite Alick Jeffrey in Cantley and I went to school with Alick junior who was 2 or 3 years older.
I also thought I saw a Donny shirt being worn in Belfast city centre

My lad was there a few weeks ago so very possible.

Harrogate Household Waste & Re-cycling Centre. Spotted a bloke in a Rovers sweatshirt turned out to be Sean McDaid's dad.

Well not quite a fan but I went to view an Art Deco house which had found on themodernhouse.com in Castleford and Dave Penney opened the door. Cracking period house, nicely kept in order by Dave and the missus. Chatted about the League Cup run against City, Villa and Arsenal and just stuff really. We'd cast a very wide net on houses so it was probably a bit too far North for us but lovely to see DP. He's a lot smaller than you think. That goal at Southend in the cup away......

I was at San Diego Zoo recently and I saw a young lad wearing last season’s away shirt. Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be my 8 year old son.

Doh.
how long had he been kept in the zoo for

Out next week for good behaviour.

There is so much going on here I don’t know where to start so let’s just all stand in awe that there is actually an Art Deco house in Cas.

Had my rover's top on when I lived in Canada and a guy came upto me who was from Doncaster. He didn't go games like. It's a small world.

A few years back I went to watch one of the local teams here in Auckland as the main attacking threat for the opposing side was one Robert Gill. My son pointed out that the bloke next to me was wearing a Donny hat. Got talking of course and turned out he was from Edenthorpe, just moved over here, and was only at the game for the same reason - to watch Mr. Gill, who didn't get a kick the whole 90 minutes. The management team for the opposition were Bobby Gould and his son, Jonathon, who had loads of great memories to share. Sad that R. G. never became the player we all thought he would be.
Another time I was driving to work and the car behind was tooting furiously. I pulled over thinking I must have a flat tyre, they slowed down and pointing at the "Rovers till I die" flag in my back window, shouted "Hey up lad, we're from Rossington", and sped away.

I’m not surprised he didn’t go, it’s a long way..

I know it's local but went to see Paul McCartney at Sheffeild arena in 2003.

Chap arrives 5 minutes before the gig started and sat 2 seats away from me in full Rovers gear.

Had a quick chat and he'd come straight from the game away which was somewhere in the Midlands during our Conference years.

On May 18th 2008 whilst on a birding trip, walked into a remote motel in Paradise, Michigan and was told some other English birders were also staying there.
Amazingly, they were from Retford and Rovers supporters and were overjoyed to hear we'd just beaten Southend and were now to meet Leeds in the famous Play-off Final.

My question in all this is what the f**k is birding?

My new next door neighbour, elderly couple move in next door turns out he is a Rovers supporter you don't find many round Nottingham. It then turns out his son lives just around the corner and is also a Rovers fan 3 of us in the same village within100yards of each other

being chased by a hoard of ugly despicable gnashing Orcs....
then saw the
“welcome to Barnsley, twinned with Mordor”
sign

Not just “ trolled “ .....but “mountain trolled “

I went to watch Orlando City the other week wearing my white CALM shirt. At halftime a bloke came up to me and said “is that a Donny rovers shirt? My mate works for them” 😂

Bit off topic, but two days ago driving back from Asda StAustell parked up outside daughters school was Wilfreda beehive coach. I couldn't help but stop beep and point to the rovers car sticker. Got a thumbs up, fair made my day being an Adwick boy in Cornwall
