Dare to Dream, I think there's a bit of guess work going on there. My WBA supporting mate has told me Moore galvanised the team after Pulis left and had them, at least, playing for one another.

Of the rumoured choices, I think DM's the one that can, not only get the lads united, but also the support base. That, imho, will go a long way in getting this coming season off on the right foot, if we are to get anywhere near the Board's stated aim of competing for promotion again.

Your WBA supporting mate must be a bit forgetful - Pulis left 7 months before Moore took over!

Wrong!
Pulis was sacked on April 2, 2018 after nine defeats in a row with WBA ten points adrift at the bottom and six games to play.
Moore took over immediately and only lost once in the last six beating Tottenham and Man U, and drawing with Liverpool!
When Moore ridiculously got the push last season they were fourth in the table and had beaten QPR 7-1 and Norwich 4-3 away.
They also hammered Leeds 4-1 and won 4-0 at Rotherham.
He'll do for me!

Wrong!
Moore took over when Alan Pardew was sacked.

EDIT - to be fair doesn’t really matter who he replaced, they were in turmoil and he got a bounce out of them.

One thing about Moore is he’d have a right good go at trying to solve this long running problem of being piss weak at defending set pieces and crosses into the box!!

Nick, apologies, you're absolutely right.
Don't know my apples from pears.
Mixed up Pardew and Pulis.
They both begin with P but are very different characters.
Anyway, big Darren will still do for me.

Was anyone at the last game at the Goldstone when DM was sent off? If I remember we were in a right old fix, we had just scraped staying in the league and Brighton beat us and Hereford in the last match to stay up and put Hereford down...never a sending off but I would say that wouldn't I?

DM was in the first Rovers team I supported.

I remember a winger getting clear down the left hand side, DM ran after him, caught him up, took the ball off him and then passed it half the length of the pitch to another Rovers player, without even looking like he was trying.

He was immense, and even if every single person who would like him as manager is being goey eyed, that's a gamble I'd be happy to take as if just one ounce of his commitment gets through to our players it will be amazing.

I was, and it was a disgrace because he got pelted with bananas as he went down the tunnel after getting the red card.

Seem to remember a banana being thrown in his direction as well. Strange how none of them waited after game for him though?

Scored an absolutely huge header away at Lincoln City. Net almost broke it was so powerful.

Remember an article in Free Press about the transfer speculation and Moore saying he was settled in Doncaster and his wife had a job at Binns that she liked. Different times.

I hope he brings Graeme Jones with him as his assistant if he gets the job.
For me the main stumbling block could be personal terms  i.e. wages ,  plus if he does well here up to xmas we could be in the same boat again when a Prem/champ club come calling when the sacking season kicks in.

Graeme Jones??
No thanks, too much of a Richardson man for me.
Anyway, he won't be coming because he's got the Luton job.

I only see Moore getting the job now, I think it’s a done deal. There is a lot of pressure on the board now to appoint him from the fans. Would be brave of them to appoint someone else.

Why was he a Richardson man ?
Yeah he was one of the gang that came from Brid but does that put him in same boat as Weaver ???

Of course it doesn't but you should talk to some of the players who were there at the time.
Jones was all over Richardson and used to moan about Mike Jeffrey not passing the ball to him.

Jones moaned about everyone not passing to him but he certainly wasn’t all over Richardson
Anyway we digress - I’m unsure of DM yes he coached at a higher level but I think only Harvey Barnes made his tenure look better than it was

I’m not saying it’s an actual done deal. I’m saying I think it’s essentially his job because of the pressure from fans.

Never had a moments time for Brighton since, all ignored as media loved Brighton. Remember Lawrenson discussing poor old Brighton plight on football focus, and finishing it off with thank heaven for Donny. Still hope he only shits pineapples stalk first since that day

there is always one that goes over the top, but I don't suppose you can help it. And NOi wouldn't mind Flitcroft as some barnsley and Mansfield fans say he would do a good job and should not have been outed

I can’t recall them playing together all that many times. Surely not long after Jones arrived that Jeffrey transferred to Newcastle?

Exactly, because Jones didn't like playing with him and Uncle Ken liked to keep him happy.

I wanted McCall last season and we ended up with McCann. Happy to say the board got it right last year.... who ever they chose I’m hopeful I’m pleasantly surprised again next season.

My preference would be Moore but who ever they go with..... he will have my backing for the season ahead

Who ever is appointed as manager I will trust in our responsible owners to make the right choice. I was very doubtful that they had got it right with McCann last time around but what a superb season that was!! It’s their decision and money at the end of the day. Just hoping for another great season watching our club 😀⚽️👍
