EFL board Meeting on Bury today
« on August 29, 2019, 01:00:42 pm by wing commander »
Frith the Mp who has been fighting to save Bury is claiming that there is a EFL board meeting right now  to consider a new offer for Bury were a large amount of money has already been deposited in the Bank waiting for the EFL to give them the go ahead if reinstated..

Would the EFL go back on their expulsion now?? They have said no more postponed games so heres a question..If the EFL rang up and said look they are completing a deal tomorrow but their reinstatement depends whether you are still prepared to play Saturday..Would we agree??? I would think for the good of the game we would have too.

On condition that they give us the 3 points and 5-0 win over Bolton. That would be the only way I would agree

EFL board meeting with Bury on the agenda - proposed sale to an international consortium as I understand it. Details to follow. I hope EFL will reconsider their decision and revoke the expulsion.

I can't see it happening unfortunately. The EFL want to look strong to stop other teams getting themselves into this sort of bother and in my opinion will say its too late.  They have previous with this sort of thing when accrington stanley resigned and tried to withdraw the resignation. Too late was the cry from the efl

I'd love to be wrong mind.

I hope they let them back in. We'll see. Not a prayer we'd play them on saturday in that scenario though.

I'm hoping Bury can be saved, but do worry about a last minute unknown investment fund who doesn't need to do due diligence.

"Too good to be true" springs to mind.

Its a tough one for the EFL, they can't really go back on themselves and this new investor turn out to be worse. But they can't just let the club die without this lifeline...

I liked the comments from Jevons, the head of the EFL she spoke well and I believe she is in a tough situation.

If the consortium are that keen on Bury, secure the ground, settle the debts (depending which ones are genuine), apply for entry into whatever appropriate league, and spend money prudently on working their way back, making sure the club truly represents the community.

It's easy to bash the EFL but there anger should be aimed at one man who persistently failed to right his wrongs! The EFL gave him ample time, and where were the consortium 6 weeks ago?

Could the consortium have even been checked out in the time that was available to the EFL before making a decision.

You know I’m not so sure German. I think the EFL are beginning to realise what a pigs ear they’ve made of the Bury & Bolton fiascos. If there is a credible buyer out there with the monies, credentials & who can show categorically they can fulfil Bury’s fixtures, it might help dig the EFL out of the hole they’ve dug themselves by giving these buyers 24 hours to ‘come up with the goods’.

In doing so they can perceive to be showing they ‘are listening’ to the football community & accept that they themselves as the governing body have been left wanting (not much!).

I’m not saying it’s the ‘right thing’ to do, just that it is a scenario that wouldn’t surprise me.

Judging by what I've read this Brazilian bloke waiting in the wings with £7m in his bank account was anything but credible.

On par with the old Torquay chairman who thought everyone was out to get him.

It reads as if it was written by a ten year old.
You would think he would have a secretary who could word it correctly.

To be honest, MM, I’ve hadn’t heard of him until this week. Has he always written for the BBC?
