It was a difficult day for us for many reasons, most of them already alluded to on the various threads.

My fourth visit to this magnificent theatre of football.

The home supporters were & have always been very welcoming, happy to talk on all aspects of their club, team, manager. Let’s be honest, you have to admire their stoicism watching that week in week out & in that stadium too ( I use the tern stadium in its loosest of terminology), but they did a job on us, scored two goals, went above us in the table & their chouda will have tasted all the more succulent for it.

So let’s quickly move on to Tranmere.

We need 3 points to keep us snapping at the heels of the top six, anything less & it’s backs against the wall time regarding promotion.

So I’ll be swapping my Sou’Wester for a scouse drawl & hope we can scramble 3 points in the quagmire at Birkenhead.

Crikey, I know it is on the coast but didn’t realise that terns had taken over.

Unpredictable bounce and wind conditions.  There's a clue in the first word of that sentence, disadvantages everyone equally.
Oh dear oh dear. Because we lost doesn’t mean we are an inferior team to Fleetwood. No team is at their best every week are they.
On the day they scored 2 both defensive errors ( very rare indeed this season ) and we scored 1.
So on the day they could be said to have had the edge. But we created more half chances than they did.

Yes conditions were in the home teams favour as they are used to them, and if you went to the game you would have noticed the ref helped them considerably. Ched Evans antics were a disgrace, whatever he was saying to the ref at half time worked, that’s for sure.

I will have you a sportsman’s bet atealithepies that we finish above Fleetwood this season.
I don’t bet on anything for money. I am far too tight to do that.  :)

Footnote.
So Wimbledon are a better team than us as we lost at Kingsmeadow again. That’s the 3rd yr running. Same at Fleetwood. There are some clubs and grounds that are bogeys.

Look at Southend 1 draw and 10 defeats against us in last 11 matches. Bristol Rovers record against us since 2003/04 is as bad.

Campsall, if you read my first post (No. 14) and the whole of it you will see that I was saying that in fact they haven't better players than us, just that they were more willing to do the basics like harrying and closing us down.  And, yes, I was there and saw the cheating tactics they employed, the same cheating tactics they always employ, and I saw the lame refereeing that gave them free kicks for falling over.
As for your bet, we've just had a very fruitful transfer window which I suspect every Rovers supporter will be expecting will bear fruit in terms of improving our position in the table.  There'll be hell on in here if it doesn't turn out like that.

Your not wrong with that last sentence that is 100% a given.

I forgot to mention the only highlight of the day. From getting on the coach to getting off, I spent the entire day in the company of Jimmydee, including two hours in Blackpool.

We all know the great work Jimmy does for the Rovers foodbank, but he's also an absolute gentleman, and great company.

It helped to relieve the gloom of the day.
