Points per game

Given the league table is a bit of a mess courtesy of Bolton and Bury, I thought I'd see what it looks like if you ordered teams by points per game, to try and equalise the fact that some teams have played 2 games more than others. I haven't included goal difference to separate those on the same points per game, as I'd have to average the GD per game too, and I couldn't be bothered. 

So the points per game table looks like this:

Only problem with the difficult start one for average position is the first game the table being alphabetical

Minor point, though, when you consider some teams have played 10 matches already. The first 10 games is always the first ‘mark in the sand’ that supporters take notice of. Due to the unusual circumstances this season (Bolton & Bury factors), just looking at the league table is not much help, as we’ve only played 8 matches! Our score for the hardest start column is relatively low because of the Bolton cancelled fixture.

Nevertheless, the guide does throw up the fact that we stand out as being the team with a pretty good points per game ratio, whilst having the perceived hardest start. And our proper league placing of 7th is all the more respectable.
