When cov could see the goal, they shot!!!  When we saw it. We passed the ball sideways?

There midfielders stayed in the middle of the park to support both defence and attack..and we gave them all the space they needed in their he first half..and .if whiteman plays any deeper he’d be crowding the goal line....

I’m not sure that the OP is correct.
BBC stats show that we had 13 shots to Covs 11 with each team having had 4 on target.
After their goal Coventry were happy for us to have the ball in areas where we couldn’t hurt them but got lots of players in and around their box when we tried to attack it and it was like trying to thread cotton through a very small eye on a needle.

Agreed, we offered little or no threat first half, had our first shot on target in the game came on 52 minutes, & improved threat wise second half when Coventry were quite happy for us to have the ball.

Actually sideways would have been good, we went back more often than sideways and we don't get our most dangerous attacking players on the ball in the danger areas of the last third or hit their box with crosses early enough.

It would have been more of a surprise if they passed to our own player instead of giving the ball back to Coventry. The midfield, in particular Whiteman and Sheaf let us down badly today.
