Darren More Appreciation
« on January 17, 2020, 08:25:05 am by Cameron Rowe »
Through all this transfer debacle Darren Moore has not come out and pointed fingers at anybody feel sorry for him at the minute. What a great manager we have always chats to fans and comes across that he gets on really well with the players hope the board back him can see him staying here for a long time hopefully.

Absolutely. Very grateful for having Darren Moore as our manager. We're now seeing a team able to get good results, a rock solid defense and a very good goal difference (though you would find that hard to believe if you read what others say).

I hope that we continue to be a patient club with managers, the board at least, and I can't see anywhere in this thread saying that the board aren't backing him.

Here Here Cameron! - I made a post just after The Snake slithered off to Hull saying how we are a club with all the right set ups for the right manager to come a long and build a legacy.  Too early to tell if Moore is that manager just yet but we are very lucky to have him and he is certainly bringing positivity to our beloved club !!  Maybe...just maybe...

There aren't too many clubs in league one who can attract a manager whose last job had his team 4th in the championship before he was sacked .

I also think it's worth pointing out that Big Daz didn't walk in to the Rovers job with his eyes shut either , he knew money was going to be tight and the team needed some surgery to progress .

Credit to the bloke for having the confidence in himself to take it on , another championship job at a bigger club wasn't beyond him .

Needs the time to stamp his own identity on the club and when he does I think you can expect some very good times ahead .

But he needs time .

The board are renowned for giving our managers time. Unfortunately some of our fans are not so patient.

I look forward to read your down to earth, common sense comments Tyke, spot on.

There seems to be a consensus that we haven’t signed anyone because of the board. This is in my opinion without any evidence
Maybe it’s DM that can’t attract players to our club or maybe he’s being too choosy
There are so many other reasons That could be to blame for our lack of signings
Let’s not always slate the board. At least we’re not in major pooh financially like some other clubs
Let’s start being a bit more open minded and stop making totally unfounded allegations

Who says the board are not backing him? SM says money is Available  he just not wanting to spend it on just any player. They have to be the right player
From what we’ve been told DM has got a A list nd B list. We also know from the one to interview with Liam Hoden we have lost out on players. So it may not be about money but it also maybe spin to be positive towards GB and DB.

Yes, it shows we know nothing and to pretend otherwise is silly.

I hope we can all agree DM is doing a great job to get the team to where we are now, hard as it is, we have no choice to be patient and let things unfold.

With no new injuries and Blair and John fit, we have a strong starting 11 for the Coventry game tomorrow.. get a positive result and the lack of incomings - or the effect of such - is deferred another week.

I think DM is doing a decent job..

Manchester United missed out on gazza once. He went to spurs. It happens to every club

DM is doing a ‘decent’ job? Bearing in mind the summer we’ve had and the number of outgoings the squad have suffered, I would say he has done a remarkable job.

Joint best defence in the league and 5th on ppg, with an absolutely threadbare squad, is unreal. What more does this manager need to do, to prove that he is worth backing?

Yes - decent in my book and the context of this season means very good.. of course the season is only half way through but I am very impressed with what I see on the pitch.

Yes clubs do miss out on players, but was said on here last night we hadn’t miss out on players. So DM is not just waiting he’s also been trying. I suppose GB and DB have been trying also but we haven’t crossed the line.

By backing, do you mean something like he comes into work this morning and has a meeting with the board and they say ”Darren, we think you’re doing a great job, here's another £1m, now go and get us promoted!" ?

I don't honestly. I agree he deserves backing from the fans who should turn up in bigger numbers to get behind him and the team.

Of course it would be great if he had more resources to work with, but realistically I can't see that happening. He's working with what he's got and is trying to get the players in he wants and he's prepared to wait.

One thing I picked up in his radio sheff interview was his understanding and appreciation of the place that a certain JC#26 has in the DRFC community. I always got the feeling that the snake to a point fought against copps, always wanted to make sure that he knew who was boss, and had no hesitation in proving that point.  Maybe sometimes to the detriment of the match day result. DM is the polar opposite, he knows that JC is practically god in these parts, hes not threatened by it, but embraces it, and works hard side by side with copps to try and enable it to continue for as long is possible.

I reckon that most of our fans think DM is doing a remarkable job given the threadbare squad he currently has to work with.

It isn’t unreasonable though to think that there are obstacles in his way which are putting some players off from joining us.

People say he only wants the right players, but don’t all managers want the right players?

He'll come good for you, Had he not shown misplaced loyalty to Graeme Jones he'd still be at ours.

Moore doesn’t stop to pretending that  he  has a plan A because clearly obvious that other teams like Coventry can read our play  better than him .

We got beaten by the better team today, just where we are at, disappointing but not the end of the world, nobody needs flogging or stoning.

Rubbish We lost because Darren Moore hasn’t a plan B and a very predictable pattern of play that is easy to defend against .

No running off the ball( Everyone),
no centre forward only a cart horse who can’t hold up the ball ( Ennis) ,
too many passes going astray ( Sheaf) When your best players are in your defence , you won’t score anything !!!   Loose 0-1

What were the results of the last three games before this one? Was it three wins and nowt conceded? I'm sure it was similar to that no?
