Jacob Ramsey signs on tonthe end of the season

If he can show the same record in league 1 as his U23 this season,
He’s played 12 scored 6 and had 5 assists

I don't know much about him but my Villa-supporting friend speaks very highly of him. Hopefully he can make the step up to senior football.

I just wonder how this signing will affect Copps. Already in and out of the squad making way for Gomes. If this kid is the real deal, could this maybe push him to retire or does DM still see him as first choice? When all are fit Icertainly wouldnt like to pick our team any further forward than Whiteman and Sheaf now that is for sure.

Copps should be able to pick and choose the games he feels he will have the most impact.....( all )

Don't think he will be coming here to sit on the bench   :ermm:

DM will know, along with Copps, how best to manage his game time but I'm sure Copps will welcome the additions and competition for places. He will want us to perform at our best whether he starts or comes on from the bench. It's a results business at the end of the day.

DM will decide.. I would expect to see plenty more of Copps too..

What a cracking week, really looking forward to seeing our new signings in action.

It certainly looks like DM has identified where we needed strengthening and has been patient to get the players he wanted.

Onwards and upwards!

Brilliant news. 3 signings in January. Only 1 a loan. 2 Strikers and 1 attacking midfielder. Exactly what we needed to go for a proper promotion push.

Bloody rubbish, isn’t it. Tight fisted board. Club has no ambition. Shocking.

There should be a queue on here now for the huge plate of humble pie that’s waiting for them.  ;)

Already given mine but wont apologise for voicing frustrations over not signing a permanent striker from July til now albeit ignoring Bingham and Thomas.. talking quality.. but I recognise that our summer preparations were completely disrupted by the Snakes departure... hopefully we can kick on from here and really push for the play off places..

Makes you think, doesn't it, what we could have achieved if the board had some  ambition.  (Insert Hound's tongue in cheek emoji here)

Yes you held your hand up. So respect from me.

As for DM not bringing in anyone earlier, what was he supposed to do? He had virtually no opportunity to replace Marquis in August with a permanent signing hence Ennis and Sterling coming on loan.

From September to December he was only able to sign players who were out of contract. So none of them would be playing much football.
He took a chance on Thomas & Bingham which didn’t work out in the long term, but certainly was not a complete disaster not by any stretch and they won’t have cost the club much financially.

So really i can’t see what more DM could have done with the missing pieces he was left with when he arrived. He also would have wanted to evaluate the squad he inherited before jumping in making signings that might not be the right long term fit for the club.

None of the criticism dished out to DM or GB or the board was justified imo. 100% not.
He has done a brilliant job up to press getting us into a play off challenging position. Now after a great January window, we have a proper squad with 3 strikers to choose from & competition for places in midfield.
Let’s see where that takes us now.
