Fleetwood very much our bogey team now

We have played them away five times in our history and lost 3-1, 3-0 and 2-1, with two 0-0 draws. The only players to ever score there are Niall Ennis and Nathan Tyson. We have never for a single minute been ahead at Highbury.

Our record overall against them this season though is considerably better than last season.

How did Cole and Feji play? I know the latter wasn’t for long but still.

Looking at the sky Highlights looks like Evans impedes Dieng. When the corner is taken you can hear a shout which sounded like “block the keeper“ You can see our players appealing but the ref didn't want to know.

Didn’t want to see anything Fleetwood were up to all afternoon. Noticed Ched Evans was constantly in the refs ear. Even at half time he was yapping at the ref as they went off. The ref was smiling.
But it worked as in the second half he gave them absolutely everything.
They played him good and proper and he went along with it.

Fleetwood reminded me of the Wimbledon team of the late 70’s early 80’s when the used similar spoiling and unscrupulous tactics.
Joey Barton must have threatened the ref at half time if he didn’t play ball with their tactics.
Appalling.
Hope Barton goes down for 2 yrs when his court case comes up. Horrible little man.

Well another example of getting a side that has been on a poor run of form back on track with a win against us.
Fleetwood pulled every trick in the book to stop us having any momentum and rhythm in the game, and I have rarely seen a trainer on the field of play so many times in one game, and with little visible treatment do so well at getting a player back up and running.
So they did a job on us, stopped us from playing, and dry  gulched us again with a game plan you could describe as anti football.
But they are not to blame for a limp display of our own, lacking in intensity and nous to overcome the problem, and in my opinion having Coppinger and James watching for the majority of the game did ourselves no favours at all, James so obviously a better full back than John who is and looks a makeshift in that position, and Coppinger the glue to the trio with Whiteman and Sheaf that has been one of the best footballing mid fields in this division up to this point in the season.
My fear of new acquisitions muddying the waters became a reality, why fiddle with the midfield and back four who have been keeping clean sheets, when signing strikers?
The conditions especially the wind, plus the referee, who let Andrew hold on to Wright's shirt for twelve yards in the box holding him off getting to the ball did not help at all, and hopefully it was a one off display from ourselves, but that was nowhere near the standard we have set ourselves, both in team management and performance on the field.

And I didn’t understand that either......

James played against Sunderland
