What do you expect from someone who can't even spell a simple word like seem?

Well done ...you certainly know how to poke the bear....
I guess your arrogance has probably gotten the better of your judgement this time...lol

It’s a little dip in form ....that’s all!

What dip in form?!

Mind you, this from someone who berates Whiteman because he says he’s ‘starting to play as poorly as Jordan Henderson’!

God forbid our two new strikers start & play like Sala & Firmino eh?!!😏

The dip in form that goes side by side with fatigue, ... and yes he will be physically manhandled by the opposition hence appearing to being knocked off the ball, however that is part and parcel of what a threat he possesses.

But to chuck him under the bus based upon a couple of games he hasn’t needed to stamp his authority on is a bit over the top...

( no shocks there then)

Regarding Whiteman, I’m aware that he has great vision for the perfect pass , however I find he slows the tempo down sometimes needlessly and loses the impetus, .... he may have been a wonderful player before Sheaf arrived, but he looks kind of ordinary now....

Anyway .....I guess we will probably disagree on that too.....

But leave Copps out of any debate concerning retirement just yet....he has certainly earned the respect of this club and its fans for what he brings to the word “ ENTERTAINING”

I'd give him another year

For his service I’d give him two, name the south stand after him and give him the freedom of Doncaster... the latter he may turn down

Why would anyone even mention that, so on that basics does Gomes,Sadlier and Taylor hang their boots up after a couple of below par games, Cops has been one of the better player in bulk of games this season, his fitness stats are better than 5 years ago (His words) let's get real without him we as a team are weaker in general

I wished him happy birthday a couple of weeks ago and said I would love to be watching him playing for us this time next year when he will be forty.
He said he wants to be so it doesn’t sound like he is expecting to be done with us just yet.

Whiteman looks ordinary since Sheaf arrived?
Slows the tempo down & loses the impetus?

Think it’s time you started ‘throwing’ a few IMO’s into your rambles.

I hate to say this as he is one of my Rovers all time heroes, but he seem to be getting knocked
off the ball all the time and giving the ball away, he does one or two good things a game just
not enought and it makes me sad to watch is decline,I think it's time to say goodbye James i've loved watching you but it's just about over :( :byebye:
I'm sure that is why DM is bringing in the lad from Villa so Copps gets a rest

I agree.
He has not been abusive, just stating an opinion.
The vast majority of us disagree with him, if not all of us, as i haven’t seen a post that does agree with his views on Copps.
That does not give us a right to slaughter him on this forum. Some of the posts in reply to him are way over the top and are insulting.
I do think far too many people on this site are looking for confrontation instead of a sensible discussion.
It is a minority of course, but we could do without it. Just my opinion.

I think it's the ops last paragraph that stirred things a little even though he has grounds about Copps overall performance levels.

As others have said, Copps will decide when it's right to say goodbye but there's nothing wrong with succession planning.

I'm sure Copps will be a positive influence for the rest of the season, both on and off the pitch, which we all hope ends on a high.

If he wants to put his slippers on at that point, what better way to bring to an end a legendary career with us.

I think everyone would want the best for James Coppinger whatever he decides to do.

Against the grain here, I wouldn’t say he’s coming to an end, but I can see why somebody would say that about a 39 year old footballer. I too have made comment the last few games Coventry and Southend in particular that he looks slightly off it, that could be a) because his usual standards are so high or b) he’s 39 and he’s absolutely knackered and the busy festive period is still lingering. Certainly not for the scrap heap yet, maybe just give him a rest and then bring him back in. I also think he’s one of the most valuable members of our squad

He has played more than last season so understandably he might be a little jaded. His stats this season justify an extension alone.
